TOPIC | Cancelling Nests? +Treasure Sink?

New Treasure Marketplace that can remove dragons off of a nest?

Don't want to make it free or anything, but sometimes I'd really want to cancel a nest.
Perhaps reset the cooldown, but add a 3-5 day replacement cooldown until the dragon can breed again?

I feel like there might be the issue of 'what happened to the baby dragons??? Did they die????'

I don't know, there may be some flaw I'm missing, if you'd like to point that out that'd be fine! Thanks anyways!

As long as the cooldown remains like if you had hatched the nest (so that people can't spam cancel nests over and over until they get a five egg nest for max profit) there's really no reason why it needs to cost you money, you're already losing the profit of the hatchlings/dragons, that's around 2+kt each for the babies if exalted immediately or 6-7 for untrained adults, up to 8-12kt each for trained fodder depending on where you level to. So if you're canceling a nest you're losing money outright already, if it's a large nest you're potentially losing out a substantial amount.
And it's saving the site generating those unwanted dragons and storing them indefinitely as exalts so it benefits the servers too.

But frankly at this point if it costing money is the only way to get staff on board with providing this then that's fine, we need this function and it's nuts that it's not possible.

I'd want to cancel nests so it's not the entire breeding cooldown, which is why I offered the idea of it costing money so people would be reluctant to always spam until 5 eggs, but I do suppose thats a legitimate problem.

But there are times when I'd rather just cancel a nest because I don't want to deal with it, so I suppose that's fair enough. Thank you for the feedback! (Not pinging though simply because I don't like to ping people on the Suggestions forum)

Alternative idea:

You can cancel a nest within 1 hour after confirming breeding.

You won't see the nest size while the cancellation period is active ("The prospective parents are preparing the nest") and the cooldown will apply after the cancellation period has commenced.

This way, an accident safeguard is provided and at the same time, it cannot be abused for nest rerolling.

Personally, if the dragons go on cooldown and stay there (after all they DID breed, therefore their cooldowns should remain active) I see no reason for restrictions.

As Persimmonbird said, you are already losing money because you could hatch and exalt that hatchlings. I wouldnt' mind if it were a small treasure fee, but I could also see it being free.

I think having it one hour after breeding the dragons would make it somewhat useless, especially for the people who already ahve dragons on nests that they want to get rid of.

Truthfully, I feel that anytime you want to get rid of the nest would be fine, whether you just bred it, incubated it once, or you just have to press hatch. To me, it shouldn't matter, as long as A. The dragons stay on cooldown and B. the eggs just go poof.

I think the most useful application of a "cancel" on any activity is when something new comes along and users immediately want to get on board with whatever it is.

Let's say you've got 2 nests, and you've put 2 pairs of dragons on them. Suddenly a new gene comes out, and you'd really like to buy a 2 sets of that new gene, apply them to 2 other dragons in your lair and breed those dragons immediately. But you've got no nests free.

The other thing I'd like to see a small cost cancellation on is Baldwin. It's really annoying when you've just started a bogsneak egg brew and they release some new brewable item than you want to make immediately.

Major support! im always so nervous about breeding dragons with the wrong mate instead of their lore pairings because it happened to me once and i would love this!

I think being able to cancel nests is a good idea. Sometimes you screw up and nest the wrong dragons, and I can imagine that would be painful for users who like to separate their bred and unbred dragons, or only breed lore pairs.

I think to make it more fair, it should either be an item that you have to pay for (in treasure), dragons will still retain their full breeding cooldown, or both.
