Okay so we all know we get one free flight change. Makes sense! If you don't vibe with the flight you're in, you can swap right away.
However, I think there should also be a one-time 'change back' option. Basically, you change flights for free your first time, but end up getting really 'homesick'. You're new and don't have many gems, and you already have to wait 6 months to change.
This is why I think, coupled with that free flight change, there should be a free "go back to original flight" button once the 6 months are up.
If you're like me and really, really like your flight and haven't used the change, it's kinda daunting, in a way? Like, I just want to go on a vacation and come back after, but the cost is a bit of an issue. if I was paying to leave, it would make sense, but paying to come back after a free vacation kinda stinks. (Image if rl worked like that and vacations stranded you!)

As I had never changed flight myself, are you not warned that the change won't have an undo button? Same as gene scrolls warn it's not undo-able, and selling on AH, and hoardselling?... The site has to stop somewhere with the warnings, else it's a never-ending cycle of are you sure and are you really sure and are you really really sure.

We have one free change because everyone picks a flight with no idea how the site works. Everyone has full opportunity to talk to other players and make an informed decision re: flight changes.
What's different about the free flight change vs any other flight change that would make someone so likely to make a "mistake" that there needs to be a safety net?

If you're super worried about hating a new flight, save up the gems before you switch! Stick 'em in your vault and they'll always be there if you ever get super homesick.

We were never meant to be able to change flight.
The only reason we can is because people regretted it, didn't realise the full implications of changing, etc etc.
That's why we have one free and why the next change is decently expensive.
I see where you're coming from, but with the number of people who take "flight holidays" for the duration of a cooldown and then swap back, it takes away a gem sink.

I feel like it's not meant to be used as a vacation. I would rather changes between any flights have equal cost, without favoritism for original flight. Six months away from a community is a long time.
Maybe flight change cost could go down a bit, or there could be a way to earn free flight changes or discounts. 1500g is more than I want to pay to switch flights, but I would probably switch flights again if the price were 1000g.

I don't believe that people should be allowed to just change flights as they please. people are taking a risk when they change flights. . . it would be really unfulfilling if they could change back again, especially when they agreed to take that risk. also I think it would make changing flights much less meaningful.

The site needs the financial support that comes from gem purchases. Numerous people currently spend the required gems to return to their 'home' flight after they take a vacation, or go to visit another flight. Not only would it be a total bummer for those that already paid to switch back if this was implemented, but this would remove an important motivation for some to spend their rl money to purchase gems.
