TOPIC | Multi-attaching Fams

As some may or may not know, with the previous dragon profile setup, you used to be able to attach the same familiar to multiple dragons if you had multiples if you played your cards right. This would not let you dupe the familiar, and would not let you bond with it more than once a day, either.

This was understandably a bug initially, but after 7 years of it being usable and it not providing any game-breaking issues (as far as I'm aware), it would be nice to see this provided as an official mechanic rather than being completely removed.

I had started a breeding project for my whole lair and having the same familiar type attached to multiple dragons was a pretty big part of the project, concept, and lore. It's a bit disappointing to now have that completely cut off and my only options either being to deal with the small number I had completed, or to remove the familiar altogether.

Please return the ability to multi-attach familiars, or even give us an official mechanic to do so!

I support the ability to attach multiple of the same familiar type to different dragons, provided you can only bond with the familiar once! It'd be really fun to have an entire lair obsessed with a specific cat familiar. Especially now that we can name familiars! I think it'd add a cool lore aspect, and shouldn't cause any real problems.

I support it. It doesn't hurt to be able to, so long as you're only able to bond with it once. So why not add it back in?

It's not gamebreaking at all, no, it's just easy for newbies to accidentally lock themselves out of content and rewards if it's implemented as part of casual gameplay without some sort of warning or tutorial. As long as there's something that alerts people who don't know any better and aren't doing it deliberately, I don't see the harm.

The idea of a family pet is really appealing, actually.

Support!! I like the idea that familiars are individuals, so it’d be fun to attach the same familiar to different dragons, but lore-wise let each familiar have its own personality. Or maybe lore-wise your clan has a close relationship or pact with a particular beast clan and you want to reflect that by reusing a particular familiar. I’d especially want the option to be able to individually name familiars as well, so that two dragons with the same familiar can give them different names based on their perceived individual personalities.

Obviously being able to bond with each type of familiar should only be a once a day thing, so there would be no gameplay advantages.

I wouldn't mind that actually, there's certain familiars I'd love to give to multiple dragons.

I'm sad this is gone too. I had a couple ideas that I was working on that could have made use of multiple dragons with the same fam. We're able to obtain multiple of the same familiar, why can't we use the multiples we have? If I have three of the same apparel piece, I can put that on three different dragons, why can't I do the same with familiars?

Support. Every other aesthetic component you can equip to as many dragons as you want, why not familiars? Might bump up interest in festival familiars too.

The only wrinkle I can see is that happens with the dragon-wing icon in the bestiary/Fiona that takes you to the dragon holding that familiar. If you had any multis the bugged way, that icon just took you to the earliest/closest-to-front/etc dragon in your lair who had it, but if multiple dragons holding the same familiar were an official option, I could see some frustration happening if you couldn't use that function to track down all the copies of it.

Also: names. I haven't played with this feature yet, but I believe the announcement said familiars keep their names even if transferred to a different dragon. Would it be possible to have different names on the same familiar simultaneously?
