Familiar next to dragon: lovely!
Filters on the familiar changing page: marvelous!

Familiar changing page reloads every single time and does not keep filters: oh dear!!

Hi! I don't know about everyone but sometimes I don't have enough dragons to work on bonding with hundreds of familiars, so I like to put one dragon in one window, open the familiar changing page in another, and pick familiar after familiar, only reloading the dragon's page once per bonding. That made the hundreds and hundreds of familiars more approachable!

The new familiar bonding page reloads, slowly, every time a new familiar is picked, and even though the filters I picked (eg Not Awakened) are still selected in their menus, they are no longer applied after the reload.
This change makes familiar bonding a lot more difficult, or restricted only to the dragons in one's lair who are bonded to non-awakened familiars.

Any way it could...
not do that?

Noticed this while searching for a fitting familiar. I looked through the top of the list, scrolled down, wanted to see what a particular familiar would look like and chose it. Didn't like it, had to scroll down again and repeated the process several times over.

The previous system was ideal and I hope it can be brought back.

The familiar system absolutely needs reworking if the page is going to reset every time a familiar is selected. The amount of time it takes to bond with familiars not on your dragons now is absurd. I timed from when I selected a familiar at the bottom of my list to when the page and all the familiar icons finished reloading, and it took 23.47 seconds. Sure the familiars at the start of the list won't take as long to reload, but that is still an unacceptable wait if we are still expected to be able to bond with all our familiars daily. And I barely have half the familiars out there. If I had 800+ the wait would likely exceed 30 seconds per familiar by the time I was attempting to bond with those at the bottom of my list.

Definitely agree, i have a fast connection and no ram problems but it takes 37-42 seconds to even get the page to show the lasts familiars to bond, then another 5-10 seconds to actually choose it, thats almost a minute for every familiar halfway down the page....

Agreed, whether it's for bonding process of trying out several options to choose a favourite, the systematic overall reload + filters reset is maddening!

Yeah, this is a problem! The old system let us swap familiars without reloading the page, I'd sacrifice sorting to go back to that. It's supposed to make it easier to match with the dragon, but even without lag the loading time cancels out the advantage!

don't like my dragons
This bothered me a lot for a while but I think I've found a way to make things at least a little easier?

Two windows like usual with one on the dragon's page and the other on change familiar. For the first familiars that don't require scrolling I did things normally today because I hadn't realize the page refreshed yet and that my old method didn't really work, but after the first couple rows of familiars you can instead use the bond status to filter to the "not bonded with today" familiars and click on the one directly below (because it's the closest and fastest) and then clicking okay to refresh the dragon's page before again filtering to "not bonded with today" and repeating for the next familiar.

You have to re-apply the filter for every familiar, but with the way I set my windows up it only adds two clicks close together to one already being made (the click on the familiar). I also zoom my windows in a lot and make them smaller to bring everything closer together and make things faster!

Sorry if my explanation is unclear! It's a little tricky to explain. ^^'

Came here to express the same concern! I don't use filters, just throw Awakened familiars in the Vault, but keeping track of where I am in my collection now has the double-whammy of longer rows on the Familiar Selection page and reloading every time I switch Familiars.

I'm sure the load times will be better on days that aren't coincident with big site feature releases, BUT YEAH BIG AGREE. If you're gonna reload the page every time at least have it retain the filters & scroll amount OTL. I'm getting annoyed having to do it for the ~30 familiars i need to bond with, i can't imagine having to do it several hundred times per day OTL

I'm lucky enough that my fams are down to two pages right now, because a week or so ago it was around 5 pages, and it would've been hell to bond with my familiars had I skipped a few mass bond days. As it is it feels laggy, even when my connection is fine and everything else onsite seems to work as usual.

I don't really come to the Suggestions forums often at all, but this does impact my gameplay pretty heavily, as fam collecting is something I really enjoy! I would appreciate the soft reload the page had before the update instead of the hard reload it seems to be now.
