Please. This is ridiculous that it is considered "finished". IT IS BROKEN. It has been broken since day one and instead of fixing it, multiple band-aids have been used.
Want proof? I have 300 pages of messages in my inbox. 300.
Well, why don't I just delete them then?
If you've never had this problem or can't understand why it's a problem, let me explain.
You start on page 1. There's some recent messages that you want to keep so INSTEAD OF HAVING FOLDERS or some sensical way of keeping these organized, you have to click until say, page 3. There is no way to use the url bar or something to automatically go to page 3. You must click.
If you delete a message, it boots you back to page 1, making you manually click back to page 3.
Do you see the problem?
If I want to go to page 40, I have to click a button 40 times, delete a few messages then click all the way to page 40 again to see what's now on page 40. NOBODY HAS TIME FOR THAT.
I think the biggest problem here, the scariest thing, is that I am not someone who regularly gets messages.
I am not an accent artist.
I am not an artist so I don't get commissions.
I do not PM my friends.
So what does the inbox of those people look like? How many messages must they have accumulated over the years? How many pages of messages do you still have?
In March of 2016 it was identified as a real problem for the site.
Instead of giving us a way to organize our 300 pages of messages, the incoming flow was stemmed just a bit.
In May of 2019, there was still a problem. (duh?)
In short, there needs to be
-Folders
-A way to go to page number X
If we had such simple things, MAYBE players who have been here a long time like me would be able to clean their inboxes out after 7 long years and give us the performance bump that was mentioned. :)

Goodbye, Message Center!
So, here's a fun fact: Almost 85% of the private messages sent on Flight Rising are sent by the Auction House. 85! Percent! Not only is that number ridiculously high, it also accounts for quite a bit of a performance hit. That is why one of our biggest priorities for the revamped version of the Auction House is to completely divorce it from the Message Center.
Our current plans are to hit the following goals:
Items purchased from the Auction House are sent directly to your Hoard.
Expired items are sent directly back to your Hoard. (this is already happening)
All successful and unsuccessful auction notifications are moved into an "Activity Ledger" inside the Auction House itself.
Literally no more auction house-related messages at all, ever.
We'll gain a substantial performance boost by cutting out these automated messages,

Since the site launched, we've employed a few different ways to deliver limited event items, such as Marva's craft boxes (from our April Fools event) and the Miniature Sornieth Globe familiar (from our Bounty of the Elements event).
As some may remember, when the site was young, these items were attached to private messages. As time went on and the player base grew, that became more and more taxing on the messaging system.
