Per usual this might have already been suggested but I couldn't find anything.

As per title, my suggestion is adding another forum for Cross-site trades.
Trades between games, trades that want/sell a thing from FR and offer/want something from somewhere else that is not FR but something similar.
So FR to Other site items and services and nothing more.

Let's start with the reason for this suggestion.
Currently this Dappervolk thing is the hype (for everyone who plays it) and is clogging up the Item Sale Forum.

By the time I wrote this there were 29 posts on the first page and over half of them were for DV related trades/services/similar.

I would to mention here:
This is nothing against DV! I sometimes see cross-site trading posts for other pet-pages like Chickensmoothie and thought this is a good time to suggest this as many more are aware of it. I myself started FR through a different pet page.

So you're just annoyed?
Not just, but yes it annoys me and surely some others as well.
This is not a rant. People can play what they want and if they want to combine it then there is nothing wrong with it.
Forums are already a hard place to sell stuff since there are a ton of posts. In the prime time (which is nighttime for me) you post something, sneeze and be 3 pages in the back where no one looks ever.
And even if it is temporally, because of it being new and the hype, it buries the few FR only sales that are there.
Yes, I sort of want them out of my sight as I have no relation to it and do my FR only business. But I also want them to have a place where they can do their thing. For me it is similar to art sales. They have their place and it is unlikely that I will ever trespass on their ground.

Wouldn't a megathread also be enough?
Maybe. But with all sales in different kind of things, everyone wants their post to be seen of course.
I personally don't look at megathreads because they are usually unattanded and an utter mess.
An official megathread (or even a pinned one made by a user) is no option as this would mean that FR officially supports cross-site trading, which is not the case.

Search function? You able to use that?
A pro argument for a user-maintained megathread would be the search function.
My personal problem is that I do know how the search works and for specific things I use it. But I dislike it.
You can search for a specific word so one typo and no one sees your post.
You can sort by the most relevant (the default) but what is relevant? How is onw potato post more relevant than the other??
You can sort by most recent so older posts are doomed to be dead and everyone is forced to post again and again, the same stuff to be the most recent. Posts that would be a "permanent" services are useless and impossible. Hence why I call them an utter mess.

Is this in terms with FR rules and stuff?
As far as I read it yes. It is in terms if both sites allow it, but it is not supported. If you mess up and someone takes your gems without giving you anything it is your fault. Here is the post about Cross-site trading if you're interested.
Although I have already seen posts asking for other site items in exchange for other site items. So no FR items involved at all ... those are technically disallowed tbh.

This is not a suggestion to officially support cross-site trades. Those are always on the players own risk. I just think it might be good to channel all of those at one place.
Again the example of the art sales: If you mess up there it is also your fault and they still have their own subforum.

Let's compare it to art for currency trades
Is that even possible? Of course! Since both are sort of on the same plane. Both are technically unsupported by FR. The guidelines only state what kind of art is forbidden to be displayed.

Art does fall under the categories:
Any virtual currency that can be converted to real world currency.
And item/dragon search-threads do accept art as a sort of payment.
Tangible items with real-world currency value.
Virtual art may not be tangible as an item to touch, but it has real-world currency value. In fact people offer their art sometimes for gems/treasure and paypal (or similar). Art pieces can also be printed out making them tangible.

But art does have its own forum and it's working good.
It didn't encourage me out of the blue to buy/create art just because it exists. It only made me aware of its existence and that I'm happy people have their separate space to do that particular business. Trading between petpages is sort of buying art but under different rules and rights.

The game is just a hype now that will die down soon.
Wouldn't the forum be vacant then?

No. There are always a few people who are selling/searching for cross-site business. All in all I would say it could actually be encouraging to do business at all since they can do so in peace.
There are forums here who are barely ever used like the elemental ones (except dom mostly) and the introductions. I joined in 2016 and haven't looked at the introductions since then.
Everyone has the one or other forum kind they never look at and every to often a forum slows down just to gain full speed again when something new comes out.

Update 1: Dv has been around for a month now and it didn't die down at all. I dare say it got even worse after people noticed that you can make easy cash with it (seemingly) and only joined to do just that.
I also already got PMed to join and this is going too far.

Update 2: Two months since it's launch and it actually got worse. It's not 100% V threads, no. But some threads don't even bother telling you that it is one! It's as if the people just plainly assume that the forum for FLIGHT RISING trades are now cross-side trades per default. This must be stopped :(

Why not send a suggestion through the Support form?
I did and also received an answer. They are aware of the situation but can't tell us if something will be done about it or how. That was to be expected as concrete answers and promises can backfire.
I assume they currently get a lot of suggestions/complaints about that topic so we can at least be assured that they don't simply ignore it until it resolves itself somehow. This is not a call that all of you should send that suggestion to them!
Until something happens in any form to solve the issue this thread will stay so people can show their support.

Update 2.1: With two months in and absolutely no official word from them it already feels like they really try to sit it out, seeing if it just disappears. Well it won't FR.

Well that's it for me for now.
If I get new ideas or explanations for my opinion I'll update this post.
Feel free to discuss whether this could be useful or not.
Please be reasonable and don't just say you don't care and we shouldn't whine.

I agree it can be a little frustrating to go through the sales forum when it's overrun with offsite trades. Since offsite trades are "allowed but not supported" I think a new forum would be more trouble than it's worth, especially when and if the hype dies down for DV in specific.

Ideally I think a megathread would be best (especially since there is a forum / topic search, it wouldn't be as unreasonable as it seems at first). People who are doing offsite trades can check the thread and people who don't can ignore it.. which is hard to do when 80% of threads are offsite trades :'D

Bumping this because
It's been over a week and not getting any better and the thread with discussion has insufficient reasoning to start with. My opinion.

Fite me on this :'D

Regarding the megathread:
My personal problem is that I do know how the search works, but I dislike it.

(I added this to my megathread part)

Always remember, this is just my personal opinion.

Gonna toss my support in here as well.

Very much agree with the general issues regarding forum search and whatnot, too, as it's fickle at best when it comes to reliably mimicking actually looking through a forum which is what it seems like some people are implying it does. Looking around the Items for sale forum and searching for specific things will never be equal- I look around several times a day to keep an eye on what's happening, etc, etc. I can't do that through forum search. It's been like a week and I already feel like I've got no clue how the general state of the market is anymore. And yeah, that might sound stupid but, ya kno. I just really want the offsite stuff moved into it's own corner so I can keep being a lazy lurker and hopefully one day actually catch some good deals on some of the stuff I'm looking to buy (half the good deals I've gotten have been pure luck after randomly browsing and finding a random sales post, after all).

I get you on that.
I feel absolutely discouraged to even look at the sales forum. They few times I do to find a dom service or similar there is either nothing or I leave after trying to find the pea in the pile of corn.

And also yes, I got so many great deals by simply glancing there from time to time!

Support! This would be convenient both for people who don't want to see DV stuff and for people who are specifically looking for DV stuff (like me).

(A single megathread is way too unwieldy and inconvenient given how many different things are going on right now - it'd be like trying to stuff all of the normal FR sales stuff into a single thread.)

I tend to agree we need a new forum. Off-site trading is so very different from on-site trading... And even though it might not be useful most of the time, as I don't think the popularity of off-site trading is going to stay this way, it will make it easier for people who want to do off-site trading, too.

I was coming to the suggestions forum for this very thing! I don't care how the situation is addressed, just as long as the sales forum is cleaned up.

I don't mind CST (especially since I've done plenty myself), but the current situation is overboard.

Support for quick implementation!
