Maybe there could be a new item, kind of like the boon of fertility, but instead of quickly hatching your nest, it increases the chance (by a bit, it doesn't guarantee it) of having more eggs and maximum eggs in your nest, and you can put it on one nest

We don't need more dragons, and nobody has spoken up about wanting a 5-egg nest for story reasons, unlike those who want one-egg nests for a particular dragon or pair. I could support an item that guarantees a one-egg nest, but not anything that guarantees a bigger nest. Something that might change the percent chance of getting a bigger nest, possibly, but nothing that guarantees it. While it would be nice, particularly for breeding projects, there has to be a) some challenge to a breeding game and b) limited ways in which people with deep pockets can get a leg up on those of us who play without spending RLC on the game. Yes, there are already ways that people can "pay to win," but getting gems is honestly relatively easy and much of the current gem economy moves in UMA circles, which is to be expected; art is a luxury, and artists deserve fair pay for their work.

Something to consider is that similar nest-boosts do not ever increase the average number of dragons that can be bred. The boon of fertility does not affect cooldown at all, just when the eggs hatch, adn the swiftbrood boon adds the removed cooldown to the next cooldown.
This suggestion would seem to run against that paradigm that seems to exist.
One way to modify the suggestion that would make it line up a bit more with the existing items would be to have it apply an automatic debuff to the next nest you lay, thus canceling out the effect, on average.
