TOPIC | More Natural Eye Types
It's been a while. I think there should be more natural eye types. For example, desaturated eyes, like this: We could also have heterochromic eyes, like this: Those are all the ideas for now. But I think there should be more natural eye types.

While I'm up for more natural eye types, neither of those will work I'm afraid.

Heterochromia won't because on most dragons you can only see one eye.

Desaturation is already covered for most breeds - arcane rare, earth uncommon, light unusual etc.

If you come up with any others I'd love to hear them though, and Desaturation is one I've never heard suggested before too!

While heterochromia can't be seen really well, I still think it can exist for lore reasons. But I guess even right now you can get a Skydancer and just claim the other eye you can't see is bright blue or something.

With that said, I would support an unnatural (applied) desaturated eye type. While some flights DO have unsaturated natural eyes, the others don't (e.g. Water). I think an applied eye type that makes eyes paler would be very popular! Maybe, it can be called Clouded and drop from Coliseum, implying trauma?
In general I agree with problems with the Desaturation and Heterochromia - but might I suggest Partial Heterochromia? It's a condition where the same eye has a sector in another color, that way this might be visible on more breeds.
It's an idea I like, though it would need to be distinctly different to the lightning, plague and sort-of wind eyes that already have partial colour change. Making a just a segment instead would be invisible on most eyes.

In general, only if we can get individual eye vials.

Specifically, it could be incomplete Heterochromia with the eyes being dual colors, but some flights already have that, so it would have to be distinct.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
I do love the idea for more eye types but I do believe many others have explained why these in particular ideas wouldn’t work out very well but keep up the good thinking!

Personally I’d like to see the opposite of darkened sight with eyes that the pupils are black and the rest is colored! It would be an interesting idea but I haven’t been able to bring myself to do art as of recently..

Support for more Natural types for sure! It’s been way too long since the last one came out.

As for your specific suggestions, while desaturated might be redundant for many elements, heterochromia would be pretty neat, even if you’d only be able to see one eye a lot of the time. It would go with the Silhouette Scrolls pretty well, since dragons of the same breed but different gender pose would have a differently-colored eye.
