I think it would be a good idea to create a seperate tab for ancient genes.

As more ancients are released, their genes are added to the specialty tab. All marketplace tabs can be relevant to any dragon, besides skins, which have always been individual species/pose based anyways.

You can apply any apparel item to any modern breed, any familiar to any dragon, any vista to their bio, any battlestone to any dragon (provided they have the correct level/element), and of course, any modern gene to any modern breed.

However, you can only apply veilspun genes to a veilspun, banescale genes to a banescale, gaoler genes to a gaoler. When they are included in the tab for modern genes, it clogs up the marketplace. And as more ancient breeds are released, they will oversaturate the marketplace to the point where finding a modern gene is too difficult.

I'm already encountering this issue now with three ancient breeds. I think they need their own tab now.

In my individual case, I don't care about veilspun. I don't have one, and I don't want one. I have no use for a veilspun's gene scrolls. If I wanted laced, I would buy laced for whatever dragon I intended to apply it to. That could be a ridgeback, a skydancer, a bogsneak, anything. But I do not ever need it for a veilspun.

Breed specific genes should be seperated in to a new category. Perhaps 'ancient specialty' or something to that effect. I'm getting overwhelmed with how many ancient genes are now clogging up the specialty tab and how difficult it is becoming for me to actually find the gene I need, since the refresh roll pulls from a large pool of ancient genes, as well as modern.

It is an issue that will only get worse as more ancients are added, and they will be added.

I will always support the separation between modern and ancient genes. I can only hope they haven't added this yet because they're going to implement it with the Marketplace revamp.

Support. There should be a dropdown to serach all modern breeds and individual ancient breeds.

Full support, the more ancient breeds that come out, the more confusing and messy the speciality tab is going to get.

I'd like there to be something like a dropdown selection to separate each category by modern breed scrolls, ancients (probably by breed), vistas other misc scrolls.

I'd like separation or something adjacent to it. As someone who's been here since well before Ancient breeds were around, I feel like genes in the marketplace would be very very confusing for people who are new and don't understand that each individual ancient breed gets their own genes but all modern ones share genes. This problem is multiplied whenever any ancient genes are added (but very obvious when a whole breed is added).

So I guess I'm saying that keeping the specialty tab how it is right now isn't beginner friendly and is probably monimentally more confusing for new players who wonder why they can't find a tundra-specific gene / why their hawkmoth gene won't work on their fae.

So I think a new tab for ancient dragons would clear some confusion and probably be easier to what I'd propose as an alternative: changing the thumbnail/icon art to be visually distinguishable from modern gene scrolls.

I was just thinking of this today. Total support, my brain is wayyyyy too confused and mixed up when shopping for genes. It’s too hard to distinguish between the two!

I also support. Or some type of search/filter. Ancient and modern genes in the MP are a nightmare to navigate and will only get worse.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
Major support! I was planning on posting something almost next-to-identical but I procrastinated on it.
