So ancients. A special set of dragons that allow the FR team to implement dragons faster, and right now their only worth is their silhouette breaking genes. I have also seen a fair bit of comments wanting to dress up ancients. So, I suggest ancient exclusive apparel.

This will be a completely new set of apparel that only one certain ancient breed can wear (ex. There is a set of Veilspun apparel released, it is able to be worn by Veilspun’s but not Galors). This is allows the FR team to not have to spend years copying every single set of apparel to ancients and please the players that love to dress up dragons.

Mommy, I want to be a gravedigger when I grow up!
While I definitely support static apparel for ancients (such as flowerfalls and seasonal winds), I don't support ancient specific sets of apparel.

Ancients were released to bypass the apparel roadblock that causes modern breeds to take years to develop and release. Plus, with how image generation works for dragons, there's no way that unique apparel would play nicely with the line-breaking genes. Not only that, but the Marketplace is already a mess with ancient specific genes; I can't imagine how cluttered things will get with ancient-only sets. It really is a case of "you either do or you don't," with ancients being a "don't."

The reason I can see static apparel as feasible is because they don't need to be redrawn to fit the breed. The question there becomes whether or not it's possible to code in specific access to apparel. Then again, it's likely that if a few pieces of apparel are greenlit, that there will be endless asking for all these other sets...

No thanks for a few reasons: —The reason ancients can have lining breaking terms is because they don’t have apparel to worry about clipping —This defeats the purpose of them not wearing apparel in the first place, to allow them to release new breeds faster, apparel, even if it’s only a limited number of apparel would slow the release down —if apparel was introduced, players would start demanding breed specific apparel be introduced to another dragon as that veilspun exclusive item would fit my bogsneak or banescale perfectly
The reason I can see static apparel as feasible is because they don't need to be redrawn to fit the breed. No support. In addition to reasons above, the MP would be a nightmare to navigate. The genes already are.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
They may vary, but they aren't drawn to fit the breed. You can grab the flowerfalls Snappers use and paste them on ancients pretty easily, for example.

So that the suggestion forum is filled with "make this apparel set compatible with X breed"?

No, that's gonna get old fast. The point of ancients is that they're quicker to work with because no apparel.

I'd rather have new dragon breeds than new clothes.

instead of apparel, I would rather have foregrounds. They would act like scenes, and could only have one per dragon, but I feel they would be much easier to produce, and could then be used across all dragons, including hatchlings and moderns, rather than one specific breed of dragon.

Having played games where specific breeds had specific clothing, and some clothing was universal, while others weren't, no thanks. It gets confusing, irritating, and disappointing to try to figure out what clothing a specific breed can wear, and then you find the perfect piece, but it doesn't fit your favorite breed and so on.

Foregrounds could compliment scenes, and would give a bit of customization to ancients and permababies (and regular hatchlings), while not adding a huge amount to the workload of new moderns, because these would be like scenes in that it would be the exact same across all breeds.

I can't say I'm against it because I would use it if it were implemented- however apparel for ancients is probably not going to happen for the reasons above. And like above I'd also love if some of the static apparel like flowerfalls, candles, lanterns etc would be compatible with ancients (and eternal youth dragons while we're at it) ^^

You know what I hate the most about ancients and moderns? The incompatibility, how there's FR A and FR B and never shall these two meet - no breeding together, no keeping genes when changing the breed, nothing. This will increase that "two FRs" issue even more as you'd have one more feature that's split exclusively to one or the other. No support.
