TOPIC | Option to Remove/Disable BoE eyes
1 2 3 4 5
I may be biased as an older player but I preferred common eye types before BoE was introduced. Several users find plague and shadow eyes triggering and it stuns me that a fix hasn’t been implemented for a problem ongoing since 2018. Personally I dislike most of the new eyes. I don’t find them upsetting but I am having trouble finding a flight where all the eyes I really like the look of on my dragons which is why I moved from my home (and favorite) fight. I have few different suggestions:

1. Disable eye types site-wide in account settings (Visual change only)
2. Disable select eye types in nests (same chance of getting any eye type but disabled ones rolled fail to common.)
3. Both

like a filtering system or turning the eye into a common type?
because removing eye types into common already exists as an item and its 2kt or something cheap

Yes just a filtering system so you wouldn’t see the eyes in another lair or on the AH

I'll always support a toggle to view eye types as common. It'd help those who can't stand looking at certain eye types.

No support. You signed up for a site with evolving art. A censor here is nonsense.

I’m not asking for a censor. I want a filter for those who are upset by the eyes. It would be an account specific choice and wouldn’t affect your view of the eye types. You aren’t censored

First of all, there was a fix. Not for other people's dragons, but now when you hatch a multi-gaze you can return it to common. I think that was considered the fix and I think that's fine. But I don't see why not add a toggle like this. Seems quite doable and doesn't hurt anybody really. Unless you rent nests, but that's unsupported anyway. As far as turning all eye types across the site to common by toggle, no support at all. This is why:
https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/573197/57319656_350.png
This is a dragon in my lair. If you open her image, you'd see that it's a single image. It's like that on her page and it's like that here. That's not what it's like in the Scrying Workshop.
https://www1.flightrising.com/dgen/preview/dragon?age=1&body=52&bodygene=13&breed=2&element=3&eyetype=0&gender=1&tert=113&tertgene=10&winggene=16&wings=78&auth=0ca30f9dbc861a96bdab973cca21834cba2daba2&dummyext=prev.png
This is her Scrying image. I don't know exactly what this means, except that it looks like this image in constructed from each individual piece. The other image isn't like that. It's like all the pieces together, flattened. And don't even get me started on apparel. You can see that clearly in dressing room images. So while they look identical, they aren't. So not only would there somehow have to be a check of the dragon itself (as opposed to the image, which I assume can be done with the scrying workshop image) against the toggle(s) that the individual user has, but it would have to generate a different image for those dragons. And I'm not even convinced it can do that (without a crazy amount of lag, if it can). So totally no support on that toggle. It doesn't seem to be worth the amount of bother it would take to make. EDIT: Thank you Jemadar for the reminder that code exists.

I don't think that changing to common is feasible, mostly due to the same concerns as Almedha.

However, perhaps it could work as blocking, where if the image contains one of the blocked elements, then it's replaced by a static image "this dragon contains blocked element: X eyes. Click to view". You could make all eyes common in your own lair and would be able to choose which dragons to view in other lairs or in widgets. Weak spot: AH, where I'm leaning to this blocking to not work for performance issues because you can curate what you see in AH by choosing to show only common-eyed dragons anyway.

Because that seems to make the most sense to me. I agree that this isn't really needed in the AH either way, though.

I support disabling the special eye types, but Uncommon, Unusual and Rare shouldn't be able to be disabled.

None of them are triggering, and they're just colorfills.

The other, including Goat, Swirl, Dark Sclera and both of the gem ones should be able to be toggled off.
