TOPIC | Potential treasure sink?

People often complain of no treasure sink. With lair space maxed out, hibernation dens could be looked at next.
So maybe your first hibernation den slot could cost 500,000 treasure as an alternate payment. I can see this pulling from the gem slots when you buy with treasure. It could also include an additional 50 for this payment category (meaning when you have used up your 100 gem slots with treasure you'd still have 50 left for purely treasure).
It could scale up too.
Slot 1: 500,000 treasure
Slot 2: 750,000 treasure
Slot 3: 1,250,000 treasure
Slot 4: 1,500,000 treasure
Slot 5: 1,750,000 treasure
And so on. As steep as this may seem it'd be an effective treasure sink. I'd say the cap would be 5,000,000 treasure per slot. Or would that not be enough?
Thoughts?

Edit: new preposed prices
Slot 1: 50,000 treasure
Slot 2: 100,000 treasure
Slot 3: 150,000 treasure
And so on....
Maybe it could cap at 900,000 treasure per slot.
I also read the responses. Since this is a treasure sinking thread, do feel free to throw in your ideas as to what could make an amazing new treasure sink. As one person has suggested, a wheel of fortune style would be interesting. You could spend 5,000 treasure with the potential to getting a few battle items, food that equates to 100 points, and other good items.

While I agree FR needs more treasure sink, I am not really sure the HibDen would be a good one.

For one, I like that it is now gems/items used to obtain the items, and the other is that a lot of people aren't as fond of the hib den.

I would just prefer that Hibden remain gems/items only, as it helps separate them, and it also gives players who aren't as good at earning treasure a way to still get slots. So, I actually want MORE den slots for items/gems.

I do think that adding more regular lair slots would help, but ultimately, I feel that lair space itself can be a relatively poor treasure sink because players can 'earn' money back by using those slots for fodder/familiar bonding (albeit a really slow way of earning money back).

I wouldn't be upset if they added Hibden slots for treasure, I just would prefer they wouldn't.

I would also prefer a unique new treasure sink, not really connected to existing mechanics, as I feel that has a better chance of removing treasure, as it would have more people interested (as has been said on other threads, not a whole lot of the player base has their lairs completely maxed out, so this would only be a treasure sink for a handful of users)

I wish I could think of an alternative treasure sink, but really the only thing I can think of would be a wheel type that you spin :P but I don't know what prizes or whether this would be a good addition.

This would set a t:g ratio, and those slots are WAY too expensive. Right now the max is 1.2 mil for five lair slots. 5 mil is an extremely large amount and nobody would buy them other than the very rich.

I’d rather they add more treasure genes and apparel, which function as a good treasure sink. (Like the new ancient genes they just released- each of those is a treasure sink.)
Hell, roundsey has been doing a great job at being a sink! Take the current amount of tickets, multiply it by 500, and you’ve got a ton of treasure leaving the system!
As of writing, there are 168,716 tickets sold. That’s a little over 84 million treasure- and it’s only been three days since the new raffle opened.

@shinyumbreon good point. I didn't know how much money people had so I assumed they really wanted to splurge.
@shinyumbreon good point. I didn't know how much money people had so I assumed they really wanted to splurge.
People do tend to want to splurge, but, frankly it is true that most rich people didn't get rich by throwing their money away. It takes something special to get people to truly splurge, and unfortunately hib den spaces, with how some people just don't like the hib den, and how expensive this is, just wouldn't do it.

Honestly, if you want to know, I think the best treasure sinks are ones where the price is small, but it is something you *want* to buy more.

As an example, on Aywas, when I played it, it was like 1 inventory slot for 10 BP (maybe 100), whereas gallery space was much more expensive. I loved putting things in my gallery, but because space was so expensive, I often just expanded my inventory space instead.

that is why roundsey is a good sink, because while she might not take a LOT from individuals, she does take a lot from the entire economy.

Large treasure sinks are good, but they only work so far, because not everyone is willing to sink a lot of money into a single place. Smaller treasure sinks such as the tax on the AH and roundsey tend to work a lot better because people don't even think about the tax, and roundsey is small enough that a lot of people think 'well, I can buy X tickets for a small amount'. I know that I will often go for quantity over quality in terms of things like deco on other sites.

Individual eye vials could be a great treasure sink simply because players would want and use so many of them. There's a thread discussing options, but some samples would be straight-up using the Marketplace, putting a vial in Baldwin, putting a vial in Swipp, introducing a new scattervial, or any combination thereof. Depending on how it's implemented, people could potentially sink a lot of treasure into vials.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
If you are proposing using treasure as an alternative to the items or gems without introducing new hibernal den slots--no thanks. If you are suggesting adding more hibernal den slots for treasure, possibly but I'd honestly prefer if they are going to add more treasure slots--they be in the actual lair rather than the hibernal den.

I would support treasure slots for the hibernal den in addition to the gems/items (as in, not instead of, but as treasure for NEW slots) for a few reasons: -there is a finite limit, in my way of thinking, to the sanity of the tasks involved for unlocking HD spaces. I already cringed a lot at having to give up eggs and boss familiars like the Wartoads. I'm not keen on the idea of having to yield the GW bosses or the Terror Toad and Fear Frog from the Portal. I want more space in both the lair and HD, but I'm not prepared to go yeet a GW boss for that. -we do need treasure sinks. While it's been said that the item tasks serve as a treasure sink, that's both true and untrue at the same time. They certainly do for some items, like the price of eggs went up and stayed up thanks to HD, but other items were only pricier when HD was new and now have fallen back to a cheap amount. (I'm looking at you, battlestones.) I agree with Jemadar on the principle that there should still be SOME item tasks for players who aren't doing stuff like intensive coli, Baldwin or G&G to make treasure, with that being said I think something like 75-100kt for a HD slot is preferable to a gathering-only item that drops at a stupidly low rate where you could gather where it drops every day for a month with dom and only get 1 instead of the whatever-amount required (I'm looking at you, Pink Mums), because the 75-100kt serves as a treasure sink ("people will buy the gathering-only item with a stupidly low drop rate on the AH and that's a sink!" - or people will just say "nah fam, it ain't worth it for one peasly slot", so in this case it would be better to have the treasure sink). So once again for the people in the back, I support treasure for NEW slots going forward, not to replace the tasks/gems slots we already have (which means you'd have to max out what you've already got to be able to get to the treasure slots).
Hell, roundsey has been doing a great job at being a sink! Take the current amount of tickets, multiply it by 500, and you’ve got a ton of treasure leaving the system!
The t:g rate has been 1:1300 for awhile (over a year without much flux), and that's probably going to go up some more when Wildclaw scrolls cycle back in. I remember when it was 1:850, and 1:1000, and I've only been playing this game for four years. Roundsey was introduced when inflation got to be more of a thing and it kept... inflating... so I'm gonna (politely, nicely) disagree that she's been doing a "great" job at being a treasure sink designed to keep inflation down. It's unlikely it's ever going to go back down to that without a LOT more treasure sinks. (Inflation would be worse without Roundsey, so in that regard she is useful, but not terribly.) I myself would support more treasure genes and apparel as sinks, but I do think we have to have larger sinks than the cost of apparel, and the problem with genes is that not every gene appeals to everybody (see also: Clown) and I think 75-100kt for a HD slot is not a bad range. I don't think it would de facto set the t:g rate (the way that an official money conversion mechanism on-site would) - people selling stuff on the AH are still going to be the force driving that.

I really do not understand what's the problem?
What does it mean "sink treasure"?
Am I rich? Or not? I still do not have opened all lair slots. And nether feel "Oh I have to much treasure and do not know what to do"
