every so often, someone mentions a nsfw bot dming them. they look like this:

and send messages like this:

now, this one's a little less obscene, but still with a dangerous link that's most likely an IP grabber. not only this, but younger players can still be exposed to much worse dms. additionally, sometimes younger players just don't know better.
for this reason, i am making this suggestion: disable the ability to send messages until you've chosen a flight, and made a progen. this, as far as i'm aware, should be a good block for a bot. it might not be a total fix, but one that should be taken into serious consideration. it can do no harm; actual players will have long gone past the choosing flight + progen creation steps before they choose to send a message.
until then, keep on blocking and reporting em.

Support. This won't harm actual players and will only block out harmful spambots. I'd much, much rather this than making the PM limit even stricter, which really messes things up for things like fundraisers, giveaways, and raffles.

Support! I see this as an easy temporary fix for this problem that has popped up recently. Plus, if any of these bots try to evade by posting on the forums, they're bound to be mass reported by people before they can do any real harm.

Support. Flight and progen creation are something every user is gonna wanna do in short order so its not really adding extra steps onto legit users.

I haven't gotten one in a long time since I'm hidden but oh boy did I hate it when I did get them in my DMs. This would be a good way to weed out at least some of them and not lock actual newbies out.
