TOPIC | Indication of birth eye type

With people including me saying how the naturally-hatched special-eyed dragons are going to lose their specialness in the face of eye vials, what if dragons who were born with special eye types retain the [emoji=special eyes size=1] icon, while dragons whose eyes have been altered don't? Or something to that effect, not changing the look of any dragon but functioning like how "Parents: none" indicates a Gen 1 dragon, which people find special

No support for marking dragons born with eyes and those vialed differently. This would just create elitism, and the staff does not need to dictate what dragons are superior and which ones are inferior.

https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/sug/3004218 this thread is currently debating both sides of the same suggestion.

Pings are disabled.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
No support.

Everything changeable needs to be logged and show if this get's added then, otherwise it really doesn't make any sense.

Why are eyes suddenly such an issue that requires an additional marking to be added? Why is there an need to verify something is more natural? Why is it not then just as important that my fae/imp pair hatches an imp? Why can't that be shown with a marking too? I can always scroll them so I gotta add proof mine is natural right?

Replies may be slow, so sorry ;w;
No unless the same function is added to applying genes, changing breeds, or using a tri-color scatter scroll.

Any indication a dragon was hatched with something vs being applied shouldn’t be added unless it is also added to these other features as well. At least that’s my opinion on it.

I don't care either way if this is added, but I do think it would be weird since we don't have a marker for dragons who have been breed changed or gene changed.

The only reason to do this is to keep the gen 1 primal market up and frankly many gen 1 primals ended up scatter projects as they were ugly. If it hadn’t been for the primal eyes they would have been fodder. This update just means the gen 1 market will return to focusing on colors

on one hand, I do appreciate some of my *very* lucky hatchlings that I ended up getting rare eyes for. Especially if I ended up with two in a nest-i like to keep those for potential future lore. That said, I don't think this change really helps too much. A marking made sense for the pose change scroll, so that people don't buy a dragon that would actually be useless to them.

But this is now a personal decision on if something means more to you personally because you can now buy the scrolls at will. This is not a debate that can really be decided by anyone but yourself.

Personally i don't think other people having an easier time getting things they want, or being able to buy their ways into getting cool looking dragons, made my dragons any less special.

So i don't really see the reason for the icons. It might be nice, but the game probably doesn't need this.
Edit: plus, the game's always been about customizing, and people pretending that their dragons where always what they looked like, because they put in the time/effort to make those dragons or find perfect ones on the AH. There are no icons to say if someone changed their genes, or changed their breed.

No support. Changing a dragon's eye type isn't any different to changing the breed or genes. We don't have labels to indicate if a gene or breed was changed from what the dragon naturally hatched with, why should the eyes be given special treatment?

Support, but I am not sure if this is even possible.

This would prevent the g1 primal markets from tanking and give people who just like having a "rare" dragon their dragon, while people can who just want the customization aspect can have that too.

In any game with a selling mechanic, some of the sellable things are going to be worth more than others, so its pointless to try and make all dragons worth the same. The selling mechanic simply being there shows the game itself supports some dragons being worth more than others.

The problem here is I don't know if the game even stores that info. Even if they started storing that info at this very moment, any dragons who have already had the vials applied to them would not have that shown which makes it kinda pointless. Unless they did a full site rollback until before the update to add this feature, it may be impossible.

I will put something here eventually.
