Please read the entire post before replying, a lot of concerns in replies are things I address further down in the post. This post was updated on 5/7/2021 to streamline and make it easier to read. So since the new eye update there has been a lot of debate about markers for natural vs vials. A lot of backlash against the idea is about it potentially being something people don't want to see in the bio and it not being fair if this isn't done for every change to a dragon. So as a middle ground and generally a potentially fun idea I'm proposing that a page is added to the dragons bio that shows the history of the dragon. Info in this page would be a record of changes on the dragon such as breed/genes/eyes/tricolor/etc. Could also potentially include hatchdate, lair changes, nesting (and to which dragon), and other info (Such as leveling in coliseum). This would keep it nice and out of the way for people who don't care, but also provide a record on every dragon for people who do actually care. Plus beyond putting a band-aid on the eye situation this is an update that could be useable by a lot of people for many reasons. Additional Suggestions For This

The history recording should be Opt In so that players that don't want to record their dragons history won't need to see the page at all. The info would likely still be stored behind the scenes so that if the dragon leaves the lair that page is still there for players that do have it. But the page would not be visible in lairs for people who didn't opt in.
The page should be toggleable so you can mark it as private/hidden. Preferably a lair wide toggle and then individual toggles within the customization for each dragon so you can turn it back on for specific dragons.
Any private/hidden histories would automatically become visible once the dragon is posted for auction or in the crossroads.
Dragons from before the update would have their histories say "Unknown" as the site does not currently track this data.
Each individual listing in the history could be deleted. That way if a dragon changed lairs many times and the owner does not want that specific info in there they can individually delete every instance of that. Could include checkboxes for deleting multiple at a time and a "Select All" Button to delete a dragon's entire history. Could also include the option to delete an entire category of changes at once (For example lair changes)
History could also include a stat block above the individual events with how many times certain things have happened, which can be cleared and set to 0.
All dragons would hatch with a birthday event marker that includes their breed, color, genes and eye type. Dragons from before the update would have a marker that states their history was not recorded. If you delete the original hatchday marker it changes to the "history not recorded" version.
A textbox at the bottom of the history page so that people who have recorded their info from before the update can move the text out of their bio and into the page.
I listed a couple potential things to address below:

Data usage for recording could theoretically strain servers, however I think it is unlikely if the page is simple recorded text & images. We already have thousand page forums and people with mile long bios, plus the saved image of every dragon ever exalted, but these do not cause any issues.
Some people have said this could be "elitist" especially in vialed vs non vialed dragons, however I simply don't see how it could be. With the ability to delete selective data and remove history overall there's no way of telling if a dragon was born or vialed if the information is deleted. Not to mention any dragon before the update would not have that info.

Additional Suggestions For This
 • The history recording should be Opt In so that players that don't want to record their dragons history won't need to see the page at all. The info would likely still be stored behind the scenes so that if the dragon leaves the lair that page is still there for players that do have it. • Any private/hidden histories would automatically become visible once the dragon is posted for auction or in the crossroads.
 • Dragons from before the update would have their histories say "Unknown" as the site does not currently track this data.
 • Each individual listing in the history could be deleted. That way if a dragon changed lairs many times and the owner does not want that specific info in there they can individually delete every instance of that. Could include checkboxes for deleting multiple at a time and a "Select All" Button to delete a dragon's entire history. • All dragons would hatch with a birthday event marker that includes their breed, color, genes and eye type. Dragons from before the update would have a marker that states their history was not recorded. If you delete the original hatchday marker it changes to the "history not recorded" version.
 • A textbox at the bottom of the history page so that people who have recorded their info from before the update can move the text out of their bio and into the page.

I listed a couple potential things to address below:
 • Data usage for recording could theoretically strain servers, however I think it is unlikely if the page is simple recorded text & images. We already have thousand page forums and people with mile long bios, plus the saved image of every dragon ever exalted, but these do not cause any issues.

Shout out to Spy for making an incredible mockup of the page and features which you can view here.

There are also some mockups for an alternate tab version below and in the first reply by Mystiek though I believe the page option is better.

tXKbExw.png Please take a look at my HibDen for forum games! I store a lot of my dragons there cause I don't have space! Tabs I don't want used say so in tab description.
I would be more inclined to this as long as it was like a third page after battle stones and it could be set to private. If you’re going to do one you may as well put an entire change log in. The people who do care can read it and look at it but should someone want to keep it private that’s fine as well. It could be an account toggle to make this “page” or “tab” just be blurred out and say private or even a interesting little symbol. This is the only way I would support allowing any change log or marker to appear for the new eye information. No marker in the normal info tab but a small change log for genes, colors, and breed changes would be nice and bonus points if it includes the dates of these changes. Otherwise because I don’t think FR currently stores this information so it would take a while to be implemented and for this information to get a storing mechanism so we would have to just let things go unknown until this was added. I would also like to add that with something like this I would petition for the removal of Roundsey dragon markers and to instead move them to this so called tab and record it as “Obtained through Roundsey. _/_/___.” Edit mock-ups

i actually really wanna support this. I've liked the idea for seperation between natural and vial eyes, and this would help out a lot. Plus it's always fun to just look back through a dragons history.

@Mystiek

I think what you suggested would work very well. An account or even individual dragon toggle to hide the page as private would be nice, I also think it'd be nicer if Roundsey markers were moved into this tab as well.

Ehhhhhh, tentative support??

Only if there's a toggle implemented. I know I know, everyone wants a toggle for everything these days, but I don't want people to care about what my dragon used to be unless I explicitly talk about that- I want them to care about what it is now.
So if I could toggle this to either be off entirely for my account, or to be invisible to other players, then sure! Yeah man, could be neat.
Otherwise I'm not entirely down because again, I want people to care more about the end result than the progress unless I explicitly ask.

I like this one better than a marker on the main page as long as the dragons owner can make the info private and it has to be turned on public when selling. So maybe not in account settings but in the dragon customization settings.

One problem op by putting it with lineages it makes the box/text too small to read. I’d put it in the bigger box after battle stuff.

I love you staff and thank you so much for the eye update 2.0! I cannot thank you enough for this!

Support. This is my favorite idea to come out of today actually.

I can get behind this. My only concern is the sheer volume of data that might come from this and thus server strain. Some people have scattered their dragons with tri color scatters hundreds of times and then done the same with scattersight vials. That’s a LONG list of changes and data that will suddenly need space on the server. Even if it’s not actively being viewed by everyone, it’s still taking up data space.
