I have an idea for newer players to be able to get a version of the original backing familiars,
My thought is to have a clanbound version of each one that players would unlock say through Fiona by having quite a lot of awakened familiars to make it worth doing.
Obviously they would not be the same as the originals perhaps a colour change but they should not be tradable...that part I think is most important.

I sorta support this, but understand the original backers paid for the rights to their familiars so its a very fragile issue.
Personally it sucks that i never got the chance to back this but ah well, we still have plenty of other cool looking fams and plenty more to come!
Recolours/edits would be interesting too, i mean they already recoloured booleans

i think some recolors, clanbound or otherwise, would be best. i wouldn't mind getting to pick ONE of them to be clanbound, but not all of them :P

I would like "legally distinct" versions of all of the kickstarter familiars like the boolean got (I require bootleg bone fiend), but I can't say I support bringing the originals back.

Wasn't around for the familiars but I support the idea of having recolors that are very distinct and different from the original.

No support for bringing back KS stuff, and those fams can already be awakened through Fiona. That's already a good compromise. That said, I'm not really that opposed to bringing back recolors of them! I'm not sure they would even need to be clanbound, honestly? I mean, the sprites are all retired and their recolors are freely tradeable (then again, regular retired is a bit different from KS, so... hm).

KS exclusives are forever gonna stay KS exclusive, as they should. Full support for recolors, but not for the original items. Call it unfair, but it would also be unfair for the KS backers who paid real money to have them freely distributed.
