i want to put a dragon in the familiar slot on another dragon.
some thoughts on this:
the companion dragon's name should display where the familiar name appears
we should be able to redefine what the companion dragon is using the same mechanic that already allows us to nickname familiars, replacing the default "Familiar" header
there's no reason for a bond level, but maybe we could pick it? unsure.
please let us flip the image!!
clicking on the companion dragon should take us to that dragon's page.
the pick-dragon modal for the crossroads should work just fine for this feature.
there's no reason to prevent us using the same dragon as a companion on multiple dragon's profiles!!
....there's also no reason to prevent us using a dragon as its own companion. i can see that having fun potential.
edit: you can fit both the dragon companion and the familiar on a page, if you shrink the familiar column to exactly 200px wide

Support! I have no reason to support this other than having my dragons being friends with each other without having to write lore. I really love this idea though!

Hi, uh. Here, have this
Support! Just replace familiar in customization with companion. Perhaps where the name for familiars is can be replaced with a title of choice. Mate, wife, husband, significant other, girlfriend, friend, comrade, etc.

I get too many pings, please PM if you ping and I don’t respond

Please, I want to give my OC-parallel dragons mates, friends, or children without adding to bios.

Oh this is super cute! I’d love to be able to do this, if only because then my dragons would actually face each other, haha. Support!

I would LOVE this for a particular pair of mine, this would be absolutely perfect for them (they currently don't have familiars because it doesn't suit them), and I could see using it on a bunch of others just for fun.
Though I would kinda hope to see the images closer to equal sized, if possible. Even if they stayed different sizes this would be much nicer than familiars in a lot of cases, and open up a lot of fun possibilities for display and lore.

I would personally say no support to this exact idea.
I would much rather have a special place to put 'mates' or something like that rather than take up the familiar spot to do so. For one, my dragons might have both a mate AND want a companion familar.
Perhaps instead, since they hinted they had plans for where the apparel used to be displayed, this could be put there instead.
But I wouldn't want it to replace the familiar, because I feel that would be too limiting for players who do want to put familiars on dragons and still let them have dragons as mates/companions.

Support, but with the stipulations Jemadar put forward.

I’ve always wanted something like this but never knew how to word it, love this!
Absolute support, i think the familiar slot being filled for this is a fair tradeoff for the customisation. If we could have both slots it’d be even better, but i’d consider it fair to have one or the other, also no idea where they’d put the extra slot without making it look busy or cluttered.
