TOPIC | Bundle all swipp apparel + individual
1 2 3
So the release of the new [gamedb item=40451] made me think. I do not like the rng aspect of this bundle, the point of a bundle in my eyes is to give you the whole set - not just a chance. But adding all the items to the Swipp pool would clutter it further. And some people don't like bundle trades because they end up with items they do not want to have. My idea to fix this? Bundle all of the apparel trades for Swipp. But also give us the option to expand the dialogue and purchase each item individually with a fraction of the materials from the bundle price. Of course, like the marketplace bundles, it'd be cheaper to buy the entire bundle than the full set item by item.
I used the demure and dusty pauper sets for comparison: The demure bundle costs 199.500 treasure. The bodice costs 17.500 treasure, which is 14.7% of that price. Applying the same logic to the Pauper bundle, which in its entirety costs 80 dusty canvas scraps and 165 tattered interloper scraps, a dusty bodice piece would cost 12 dusty canvas scraps + 25 tattered interloper scraps (numbers rounded up) Though the hazel "bundle" gives only two items, so I'll just divide both of the 25's by two and multiply by seven to give the "full" price (again, rounded up) of 88 blackberries and 88 spectre loops*. *note: forgot about the discount
Here's a really quick and gritty mockup I made: The regular Swipp Swapp menu, with a button to expand the trade edited in. A menu where all of the items in the bundle are shown, with individual "trade" buttons and their prices. A button to return to the first menu is at the bottom. The dialogue added says: "Oh, you want the items separately? You....know the bundle's cheaper, right?" This would also have the added benefit of some extra dialogue for each of the Swappers [emoji=tundra happy size=1] Edit: extra! Currently we have 121 Swipp trades available. Every day we have 12 trade cycles, in which we get three items (which can be duplicates) offered. The chances of coming across an item trade you're seeking out are quite frustrating at times. Having bundled the items in obvious sets, the list has been cut down to 83 individual trades! (bundled: venomscale, raven sylvan, onyx seraph, crimson silk, black lace, aqua birdskull) On top of that, bundled items like this would be nice for dom organizers, or anyone running raffles/giveaways in general. Though that's nice and all, I do not think Swipp can be sustainably be run like this if items keep being added, and more balancing like multiple trades or something should be considered.

Definitely support! I would love to see something like this implemented, Swipp is currently mostly just annoying to use IMO

Support!

I don't understand how anyone could find it "fun" to gather the items for the new trade in order to to get 2 RANDOM items of the set when there trades exist that give you the full set.

Huge support on this one. Swipp is already pretty cluttered and I would love to see a fix to that!

I'll support this one all the way.

I get that RNG mechanics are fun for some people, but if I'm looking for a specific piece and have to rely on RNG to get it, I'll just not get it. Maybe I could have gotten it if I tried to appeal to the RNG, but the effort to be able to make the trade without knowing I'll get what I want isn't worth it to me. And it's not like not getting it be the end of me or hugely impact anything, but it's not very fun.

But the Swipp pool is definitively big lmao. This sort of fix would be excellent, I think, maybe I'd even start visiting Swipp more :'))

I think I may have sent a similar suggestion like this way back when via Contact Us about letting all apparel of a specific apparel set taking up just 1 slot at Swipp's, offering all of them at once.. That way it increases the odds of you getting the specific piece you want of a set, while at the same time not cluttering all the slots so you also have a shot at getting something else.

I'm not sure how it'd work with the ingredients for items that are currently available seperately; would a bundle require all the items that the individual pieces require but at a slightly lower quantity..?

Uncertainties aside though, 100% support

Support, really don't like rng aspects with the current bundle. Especially if I'm looking for just one piece of an apparel set.

@Gaia I was thinking maybe take the full bundle price and then kinda assign the percentage of that price to each item? Though I did just forget the 15% discount after doing the math.

I used the demure and dusty pauper sets for comparison:

The demure bundle costs 199.500 treasure. The bodice costs 17.500 treasure, which is 14.7% of that price.

Applying the same logic to the Pauper bundle, which in its entirety costs 80 dusty canvas scraps and 165 tattered interloper scraps, a dusty bodice piece would cost 12 dusty canvas scraps + 25 tattered interloper scraps (numbers rounded up)

Though the hazel "bundle" gives only two items, so I'll just divide both of the 25's by two and multiply by seven to give the "full" price (again, rounded up) of 88 blackberries and 88 spectre loops.
Gotta go, but the same idea as the bodices could be applied further!

Edit: forgot about different trades from the same sets having different items asked... No idea how that'd be incorporated, but eh.

I totally support this. I rarely ever visit Swipp because it's often cluttered by individual items from sets I don't particularly care about, and this would be a great fix. I'm really not a huge fan of the RNG aspect of the hazel set- there's already enough RNG involved as is, and compared to the rest of stuff on FR, that's a ridiculous amount of work/waiting to put into a piece of apparel if you want a specific part of the set and then have no guarantee of receiving what you wanted for the items you collected. This would be a really great solution!

If there would be any complaints to be made here- this is, after all, the suggestions forum- it might (?) be from people who profit off selling Swipp items, but I don't personally see Swipp trades for apparel set pieces becoming slightly more accessible as something that would dramatically alter the market. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see any downsides here :v
