I literally just got back from the craft store with the things I needed to dye fur with this cool ombre and.... what? Why? Like, I get art errors. I even get consistency across poses of the same breeds. But why do Obelisk's need to have the same mane kind as other breeds? They don't have the same mane as tundras with Hex! They have an obre on safari while tundras have stripes? Look at how dynamic spinner is, while tundras have nothing! Are you gonna remove that too? I chose for them to be Obelisk specifically to highlight those colours. Just look at Kera! If the "fix" to Butterfly on maned breeds could be reverted by popular demand, I don't see why staff shouldn't do the same here, even if the affected gene is a treasure gene and not a gem one. This is a disappointing gene update to say the least.

i support this. they waited far too long to change this. It was released basically with the new breed, and it looked best on obes because of the mane! i get butterfly was around longer, but honestly i don't think ill ever even use flair now that it's ruined on obes.

consistency isn't always necessary. murk was SERIOUSLY butchered. sometimes the correct way isn't the good way

[/quote] This a thousand times. If there are art errors, they need to be made apparently IMMEDEIATELY. Put it in the thread somewhere with a mock-up of what it's supposed to look like, and let people know what is currently out there is NOT PERMANENT. Art errors happen very frequently, so the lack of transparency of what is an art error and what is intentional is even more egregious. I don't care if they do corrections, but it shouldn't be sprung on people like this, and it should be well known so people can plan accordingly.

Yeah no, my Obelisks have been absolutely slaughtered by this “fix” and it frustrates me so much. There is no reason why they should update it after all this time! My Obelisk just doesn’t work with other genes besides Flair!

Agreeing with the last point too, it's really egregious with these genes that throw very noticeable and contrasting accent colors -- people shouldn't have spent time or funds planning these incredibly specific color combinations only to have the rug pulled. If there's a coloring error, it might be good to be transparent about changes being planned at least even if they can't be implemented right away.

But the way it looked was way cooler, would love to see it returned in some capacity, Obes are like...40% mane!

[/quote] Support. All this. Literally how hard would it be for staff to make a single sentence announcement post in the status bar of the website Specifically Designed for That. Are they just that bad at owning up to alleged mistakes before fixing them? You'd think they'd have learned their lesson with butterfly but I guess they like putting on clown makeup and honking their big red clown noses like once a year. Anyway when's the actual bugged gene noxtide being fixed [emoji=obelisk sleepy size=1]

I honestly thought that Flair's mane colour on Obelisks was intentional-- plenty of other breeds have minor gene variations, and the mane covers a huge amount of surface area on Obelisks, so it would make sense that the gene would affect their manes like that. It's not like Giraffe/Hex, which was borderline invisible and pretty obviously a bug. Flair was so flashy and fancy that I never would have imagined that it was an accident.

I really hope they switch it back; the new Obelisk Flair looks so bland in comparison. :( Plus, since this change was 1) not obviously an error and 2) announced quite some time after the gene was released, that just ruined a bunch of breeding pairs and gene projects that people spent a lot of time, effort, and currency on.

However the FR devs have been told this a million times, and yet they STILL keep doing this and upsetting their userbase. At this point it’s not a mistske or an oversight, it’s a deliberate policy. Why?

i support putting it back. just slap it back in there. deciding the gene looked different than you wanted and changing it with no warning months later is massively inconsiderate of your playerbase. many, many genes are not consistent across breeds. deciding this one should be after already releasing it is just not okay.
