I know we can trade extra research notes for work. We NEED to be able to trade surplus work for notes too. I have 55 precise works that my RL schedule is only ever going to have me adding to, I don't have enough free time in a day to ever, ever catch up. It's already irritating me that it's piling up five times faster than I can spend it, I'd give my left you know what to trade them in for research shares so they'd be useful to SOMEone

That would indeed help other players who are specifically attempting to finish plots befor using the pickaxes. I for one could used them (OCD wants to uncover the plots before moving on), yet can only do so much in a given day.

In full support of this as I've now racked up over 100 Precise Works with no time to use them faster than they can accumulate c':
While I wouldn’t mind if this is added, I just don’t see it as necessary to solve the problem. If you don’t want the resources, just don’t gather them. It isn’t hurting anyone to have surplus materials sitting there, either, if you’re gathering solely to give notes to others.

@Kutabe Well, in my case I have some severe OCD issues, being unable to sync up the three numbers to 0 is irrationally infuriating/frustrating/inductive of melancholy on a bad day
Edit to add: Sending notes to friends makes me happy :<

I have no feelings on this— completely neutral, I wouldn't use it myself, but I don't have anything against it existing— but I would like to note that it would have to have a different ratio than the 8:1 for it to not be extremely easy to misuse. If you get 8 notes for every magnifying glass, for instance, it would be very easy for two friends to game the system and never use personal resources again because they'd get way more notes.
So this would have to operate somewhat like the Baldwin system, where you can exchange goo types but always at a loss. (You need three green goos to get yellow, but if you melt a yellow, you only get two green, for instance.) The notes -> resources would be at a loss, but the resources -> notes would have to also be at a loss and not the same formula reversed.

@mothscale Personally I was thinking 10 rugged works and 20 precise per research note
