scenes have been a wonderful addition to the game, but i often find myself wishing that scene recolors were a thing. they'd allow for greater variety in customizing dragons, while also not taking as much time to create as a new scene altogether would - imagine if [gamedb item=34845] had a nighttime version, or if [gamedb item=37361] was mainly purple instead of mainly green? so first of all, that's why i'm suggesting scene recolors. i personally think they'd be a fun addition to the game, expanding customization possibilities while requiring less original art, like familiar and apparel recolors. and honestly, i believe this could also be expanded to forum vistas; you could have a variant of the breed vistas in which the emblem is gold, for example, or the jester vista getting a recolor based on one of the other color versions of the jester set. at the same time, i'm aware of the fact that adding a bunch of recolors all over the place to the same features the original scenes/vistas come from might feel annoying, since you end up with a bunch of near-duplicates of everything - and even though it's not like that's never happened before on flight rising, i also think there's a more fun solution to implementing these recolors: using the new grand exchange shop system we've seen on joxar, this proposed npc - a banescale with a love for painting - will gladly make recolors of scenes and vistas for you, in exchange for a fee: one copy of the original scene/vista (as reference material), and a number of a specific item, depending on which new item you'd like to create (in-lore, the npc uses these as painting supplies). vistas require more extra materials, due to being single-use; scenes require less. but you can mostly disregard the exact numbers in the mockup since this is just an example of how the shop would look. new recolors could be added here over time; i'm not too sure on recolors of retired scenes & vistas since it does require a copy of the original item but as long as it's at least a cycling item, it should be fine. who knows - maybe joxar, with his festival scenes, is willing to do a collaboration? anyways uh yeah that's it pretty much for this idea. people seemed to like this when i posted the mockup to tumblr and i've been desperate for scene recolors for ages so who knows - maybe we'll get this? maybe not. but hopefully we will.

1000 votes of heck yeah from me!! I love this idea, especially since I can't always find a scene that matches my vision.

Oh I definitely like this, it's more interesting than just dropping new versions out of the blue, and agreeing with the person above me -- sometimes scenes look great but the aesthetics dont match any of my dragons!

I would say using materials for the change is a good idea (lore-wise like you said) especially in comparison to using treasure, since some scenes have a decent price tag on them already.

I love this idea! I agree with Zeverous, sometimes I find a scene that's perfect for a dragon - except for the color of it. I really want to see this implemented somehow, and I think the materials instead of gems/treasure is such a good idea!

Support, this would be a great way of adding night versions of coli scenes as well

Would adore this! The scene art is lovely, and seeing it in different colours would be nice, as well as leave having the current scene catalogue feel less barren :0
+ some coli venues have such drastic night/day looks, it'd be really cool to have for example, the ability to have volcanic vents or kelp beds both day and night
