TOPIC | Contact lenses
Got a interesting one. How about cosmetic eye color changes? Kinda like contact lenses. Example, your eyes are really brown, but contacts make them blue! I thought this idea and wish would be unique. You can leave them on, or take them off.

This is suggested on a very regular basis and I hope one day they do add an item like this!

These (kinda) exist, in the form of the Marva eyes. For example, this is a Shadow dragon:

I like being pinged, but not mass ones.
I often process thoughts by writing... Trying to TL;DR more.

Thus it is a little patch but not sure for situation in general.

I would honestly love more marva eye-like apparel. While it is possible to change a dragons eye color through cleverly layering apparel (for example, the dragon in my icon actually has Arcane eyes!) not every person is going to want to do that.

I think some new eye types would be cool-- there's already some that change the eye color enough for a second glance. Maybe one where it gets inverted to the opposite color (Inverted Eyes,) or one that works similarly to dark sclera eyes, where the dark part is the "true" element and the other part is a different color (Possibly calling it "infused" eyes?)

i like all the variations on this suggestion! i have a couple of dragons who i wish had a different eye color, but i've gotten around it with goggles of various types. contact lenses or some other way to change it would be amazing.

Only support if they're different in design or color enough that they won't look like the other flight eyes.

For what it’s worth, this subject has been discussed a lot—including in a thread where the most recent post was just five days ago. This might have been a case where posting there instead of starting a new topic would have made sense?

Anyway! I was pretty satisfied with how I articulated myself there in explaining why I do not support this one, so I’d like to share it here as well:

Though I've seen variations on this suggestion for years, I personally would rather not see it implemented.

Flight identity through elemental eyes is a major part of the flight rising experience, and I wouldn't wish to lose that—even if it sometimes presents a hurdle to achieving the "ideal" dragon. After all, that added difficulty makes the aesthetic "victories" more meaningful, and what's more, I love the creativity users show when faced with the necessity of dressing dragons to integrate non-matching eyes. While it's not like either of these would go away entirely, losing that necessity element would undercut it a whole lot. (Kind of like how people used to like to rehabilitate wacky primals but lost interest in that style of dragon collecting once there was no need to "settle" for a wacky primal in the first place.)

That being said, I would definitely support the following:

1. More options for eye coverings in general, because the one week a year eyepatches and exclusively in dark/earthy colors blindfolds ("daredevil covers") are both pretty limiting in terms of options! Maybe something like veils over eyes would be pretty, or simply more different blindfolds in far more colors...

2. Even more vial-able eye types! Think about how much more flexible Earth eyes became, for example, with the advent of vials to make the new hues accessible. I've seen lots of great suggestions in this forum for more options to increase the range of color available to each flight without losing the elemental eyes part of gameplay entirely.

I would like more Marva-eye type apparel that isn't goofy, and I say this as someone who overuses the goofy eyes because non-serious dragons is the closest thing I have to an aesthetic. A contact lens that provides tints or some other feature would be cool, so I will always support that kind of eye apparel.
