I have a suggestion for the Devs about something to try when they get the time: Create a Flight Rising Mobile App! Specifically, one that is basically equivalent to the website but pre-caches and stores a lot of the static parts of the site and optimizes it for mobile use so that the experience on mobile devices is a little better (I haven't personally tried because I can't but I've heard it is RATHER SLOW and difficult to use). This should not give any advantages to mobile users, other than simply making it a little more user-friendly. Also potentially another source of income for them.

I did suggest making at least one game and/or the coliseum mobile-friendly a couple of days ago, so this definitely has my support.
(I do visit FR on a phone regularly, and it IS pretty slow and forces you to zoom for basically everything. I've seen worse though, at least you can still feed your dragons/incubate eggs.)

But yeah, I think the priority right now really is getting the regular website to work properly. It'd be awesome to have a mobile version eventually though, so I hope it can happen one day!

I support this! The site doesn't load too slowly, but everything is microscopic. I'd love to play the Colosseum on my phone.

Ah, well, the reports weren't clear on what exactly the issue was but I did hear that the site on mobile devices was problematic at least. So ideas for the app:

Pre-cache static data
Store your account information
Maintain your account in system memory so only the differences need to be downloaded, reducing server load AND load times
Pre-loading games specifically optimized for a mobile platform.
Other optimizations
Ability to quick-buy gems.

Things a mobile app should NOT have:
The ability to earn treasure, items, and gems in ways that the solely-computer-based userbase cannot.
"Perks" to the mobile app, like extra gathering turns or extra gems-per-day.
Basically things that favor mobile users over non-mobile users.

As my phone is, for the most part, the only source of internet I have, I would ADORE a mobile app...I work overnights, so if I could play Runes at 2am (less people online) on my phone during my break, I would be sooooo happy...I agree with @Fayd that it should have nothing above what the site offers so as to be fair to non-mobile users...

Oh god yes support PLEASE. The majority of my play is on my phone; I have to borrow a computer for games, opening bottles/chests, and anything that I want to have take less than half an hour. :(

While I would love an app, there are quite a few difficulties in making one. Those being:
  • Cost, it's super expensive to code an app
  • License, you have to pay and be approved for an app to be used on an Apple device. If not allowed on Apple devices but on other phones, it gives them an advantage over other users based on the type of doohickey they own
  • Cost again, would an FR app cost money to download? If not, it's a money sink for the devs and takes money away from ways to better improve the site, if so it divides the community as it allows for people who pay to have a significant advantage over free users

Taking that into account, I'd rather the site just be better optimized all around... the site is in general really clunky.

- Quick buying gems: Maybe for Android but for iOS Apple takes a 30% cut of the IAPs and does not allow apps to enter their stores which show any means of buying gems outside this 30% cut
- Making apps: You need to pay Apple $99 yearly for a developer license and Google an one-time fee from memory: costly
- Coding: time it takes to code a mobile app is time not spent on the desktop version.

In essence: if you want a mobile app, don't write a mobile app but recognise the useragent and make alterations to main site display instead.

@Darketernity Good points; I wasn't aware of the legal and business issues involved. I suppose they will have to decide if it is worth it for them to. They should consider it at the very least, though I am willing to bet they have.
