Why does this post say it doesn't have any replies I'm always here for more culture stuff as long as they research. I'd love to see some mexican / mesoamerican inspired stuff besides the goldslab set, especially since thats cycling so it's kind of hard to get, and pretty old so a lot of the time it looks strange.

I would love to see more Americas-inspired clothes. We have a lot from East Asia, but not a whole lot from the Western countries, particularly the central parts of the west, such as El Salvador and Costa Rica. I'm not sure what it would look like, but I love when we get clothes from all across the globe.

So I'm gonna be That Guy who points out there are people who will use it in a racist way to make fun of Mexicans, because even though FR skews young and progressive there are exceptions.

In THEORY I want to support this because yes, we should have different cultures represented - we already have that with Greco-Roman type apparel and Viking apparel and Egyptian apparel and the Goldslab is Mesoamerican - but in practice that comes with caveats about people being jerks and using it in a mocking way for Mexican stereotypes and such, it's a much more iconic and obvious item to use for that than, say, a poncho.

(And in case my position wasn't abundantly clear, racists can heck off.)

I do not think the right reaction to racism and other bigotries is to just never include other cultures or identities for fear they will be targeted. Inclusive diversity is not without its inconveniences, unfortunately, because people just can't be nice and decent - but to me, that's no argument for stopping.

Sombreros, ponchos, and other traditional dresswear would be awesome! Especially those frilly, beautiful dresses.

[/quote] ^Yeah I didn't say "no support", I said my support comes with caveats - like reporting cases of bigotry, and hoping that a support ticket on those cases doesn't take a super long time to resolve. I don't think we should just not include other cultures because of bigotry, I didn't say that, I probably should have made it clearer that my position is "we need mod diligence if we release this". I think the sombreros and clothes like frilly dresses would be a nice edition. [emoji=ridgeback happy size=2]
