SKÍRNIR
messenger, Sunbathed Messengers Subspecies x
Skírnir was picked up by Faavne, taken in as a hatchling in need of a new home. The little spiral was a proper pest to Faavne from the first moment, having so much energy and such a limited span of attention it was actually impressive. When they made it all the way back to Valhall, poor Faavne looked ready to harm someone.

But after tossing the little spiral to the more maternal and caring dragons, things got a bit more calm. With other hatchlings to play with and dragon that were actually patient looking after him, Skírnir found plenty of ways to let out all of his energy. He raced and spiraled around, often stretching the rules a bit and testing the patience of anyone near enough.

Despite his somewhat annoying levels of energy, Skírnir showed plenty of promise. Not just as a fast, healthy dragon but also as a good companion and friend. The spiral was kind as they could be, sharing all the treats he stole with the other hatchlings and refusing to be silent when things were unjust or very unfair. He was quite driven by his heart and morals, his spirit and personality as impressive as the amount of twists he could do in the span of a minute.

Which, if anyone ever wondered, was a whooping seventy-two.

But as he grew up, Skírnir quickly realized that he couldn't stand the cold. Mostly because it was cold. He was an outside dragon, one that wanted to swoop around and be free. But when it was colder than Icewarden's toot, that just wasn't possible. To remedy the situation, Skírnir decided to make a deal with the dragons of Valhall.

He would be their temporary messenger, learning the ropes and becoming good at it. Whilst out delivering messages, he would search for a home he would prefer to the icy fields and when the time was right, he would move on from Valhall. No one had any complaints to it - every dragon did what they wanted to in Valhall, after all - and agreed to the deal.

And so, Skírnir is roaming the lands, delivering messages and trying to find a place he would enjoy more than the Icefields.

Uh-oh, looks like this messenger wandered a little too far from his home lair and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair (Fayeslift, 368347), or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Stops/Adventures:

(LaurelsAndMoss, 442963): During his travels, Skírnir found himself in a small, still-developing clan in the Viridian Labyrinth. He immediately found the warm climate of the area more appealing than his previous clan. Weary from his travels yet filled with new excitement, Skírnir went around the small clan and asked to spend a day or two. Nereus, leader of the Clan of Laurels and Moss, welcomed him and called for the clan to provide him food. Nereus gave him permission to say as long as he liked, providing that he help around the clan while he stayed. Upon discovering that he was a messenger, Nereus sent Skírnir to work with a fae male named Grasshopper, the clan's own messenger and scribe. Although skeptical at first, the fae soon warmed up to Skírnir's vibrant personality and the two became close. After some time in the clan, however, Skírnir no longer felt satisfied. Bidding his new friend farewell, he set out once again.

(Foxil, 431112): It's a shame this noodle did not receive the same treatment as his last stop. As the night drew near he needed to find a place to rest soon. He ended up stumbling upon what seemed like a... swamp? It seemed unlikely due to the fact he knew for certain that he was in the contagion, but he was too tired to question. There many small cottages all placed in a circle... eventually the dragon finally gave out and fell asleep on one of the many floorboards.

There were many hatchlings huddled around a small jar. All of their eyes focused on the little, yellow caterpillar. The biggest one. Wraith, who was about 3 days old started flicking his paw. Causing the fuzzy specimen to lose his balance.
It seems one of these kids had turned this once fully grown spiral into a living fuzzball. The rest of the day was spent watching the dragons outside and inside the cottage. Until Hex, one of the coven's leaders found him.
"Wraith! What did I tell you about transforming strangers into things!"
"But he was in the way! And trespassing!"
"You should have told one of us instead of taking action!"
"But-"
The ridgeback was already nudging the young hatchling out of the doorway by then.
She ended up lifting the spell on him, did not apologize, and made sure he traveled far away. Who knows maybe she can spy on him now?

(oh man this story is a mess lol)

Traveling this far into the icewarden’s territory was dangerous. Outsiders this close to the fortress had many perils. The cold for one and then there was the monstrosities imprisoned here. Right now the cold was the immediate threat to Skirnir. The colder he got the harder it became to move any farther. Luckily the scouts from a clan that was settled nearby found him before he froze to death. They took him to their stronghold and warmed him with blankets a fire and a warm bowl of soup. He was welcomed to stay as long as he wished, and would be allowed to earn room and board and was welcome to leave when ever he liked. He had left the cold for a good reason so his stay here wouldn’t be long. Besides it might soon be discovered that the hatchlings belonging to the Tundra’s mate are not his
