If ever you feel the urge to exalt, Akua would really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.
Though born of the clan founder and her mate, Akua never felt that was enough to justify her space in Deoradhan-Kunibert (#158838, sgkat), for she certainly wasn't the oldest of their children, and...well, looking at the choices her siblings had made, at the happinesses they had... she felt helpless. Feelings of inadequacy plagued her, particularly after her older sister and nestmate, Carita, decided to join the ranks of the Arcanist.
But then... then she was told of her brother's quest. The brother she'd never met, who had left his home in Search of his Charge. And suddenly, Akua was energized: she could find a home where she truly belonged, where she fit in. She determined to travel the length and breadth of Sornieth in pursuit of her dream.
Akua found herself in the Windswept Plateau, and deeper in she found Reedcleft Ascent, where she met the dragons of Clan DarksBane. They were kind, there were many young ones. It was a pleasant stop but she did not find her brother. She found a female Gaurdian named Maritime who was on her journey. The special journey of all Guardians and this ignited in her the determination to push forward. She expressed her appreciation to the clan, and left shortly thereafter.
Akua loved her stay in the Plateau, but looking into the Twisting Crescendo she could almost make out the site of a faraway land. She flew over the crescendo to find more about this land. She instinctively flew to the Snowsquall Tundra where more trees and green were. She ran into many coldhearted dragons not willing to bat an eye in her direction. One morning she ran into a Centaur Spearman; he was very wary of Akua, but realized that she is not from around these lands. He lead her to the Clan Purpal. They took her in with open wings. She feels at peace in this quite little clan, and finds herself wishing to stay for some time.
When Akua finally moved on, she ended up in the Shifting Expanse, in an environment radically different from Clan Purpal. Clan AXQU was a tight-knit clan, wary of outsiders and even more wary of travelers. The little fae didn't feel welcome here in the slightest, and the fact that she didn't have any fancy genes to speak of made her quite a bit more self-conscious than she cared to admit. The hospitality was fine, and she appreciated the opportunity to share her story for the archives, but when it was time to move on Akua was not at all sorry to leave this bustling, exclusionary clan behind.
She journeyed on to the Scarred Wasteland, where she met the stranded Wind dragons of Avis Calvariam. Nearing the end of the repairs to their airship, the little clan was jubilant - and very, very distracted. Akua stuck around for a while, but decided to leave when she realized her timing was not the best and, though friendly, the clan wasn't open to the idea of new dragons permanently joining their midst just then.
From there, she moved to the Sunbeam Ruins, coming across the Ancient Guard clan. Immediately, she knew she didn't fit in. Too many large dragons roamed the lair. They intimidated her, no matter how friendly they were. She was afraid she'd be crushed! Or forgotten... Ezekiel, at least, threw her a feast before she left - to better promote the image of his clan, he'd said. She thanked him, nodding at the dragons around her, and once again took to the skies.
Seeking familiarity, she darted across Sornieth as fast as she could manage before tumbling out of the atmosphere into the blessed pinkness of the Starfall Isles. Clan Inkstain, home to many dragons and ruled by its sole Fae, welcomed Akua. Here was a place she could learn how one as small as her could hold their own with much larger dragons. Akua was relieved to find unoccupied sap nests in Inkstain's lair, however. She knew for at least a little while this could be her home.
It wasn't until she found herself in the unfamiliar terrain of the Viridian Labyrinth that she found a longer-term home. Despite her increased confidence after her stay with Clan Inkstain, she still felt a bit intimidated by the sheer size of the Behemoth and the dense, tangled jungle beneath it, but the party of Faes and Spirals she'd encountered while insect-hunting had promised her a warm welcome. The clan had cozy nook set aside for sap nests, and there were many Fae here, including another young Arcane expatriate, a Fae called Betelgeuse.
