Clan Info
Disabled butch lesbian. Writer, weaver, and aspiring botanist and scholar. I'm interested in a variety of subjects, mostly the natural sciences and several forms of art, and different fiber arts. I weave, but I want to get into spinning yearn. I sew and have a keen interest in quilting. Botany of all stripes fascinates me, but have a particular love for horticulture, arboriculture, and floriculture. Mycologist is also deeply interesting. I like writing stories about women, particularly masculine or butch women. I also like writing disabled protagonists, as I'm disabled myself and rarely see disabilities represented at all, much less represented well.
There may be delays between when I receive a message and when I respond. Usually, that's because I'm not feeling well. If I haven't responded in a timely manner, a gentle poke might get a response. Key word is gentle.
Sanctum Arcana
Circling the Focal Point in a specific, steady orbit is a terraformed meteor shrouded in shimmering violet energy. To access to the Sanctum, you must first be invited—the wards carved into the rock of the astral island form a barrier that prevents many from accessing it. But the dragons of Sanctum Arcana enjoy the free exchange of knowledge, and so long as you're polite and keep your word. The Sanctum has stood for centuries, painstakingly grown with each decade, and it is known siege only once. Currently, as for the last myriad, the Sanctum is home to a coalition of scholars. Said scholars belong to all eleven elemental flights, though the Sanctum is well-known to align itself with the arcane flight—the home of its two founders. It is a lush place laden with soft, rich grasses native to the Starfall Isles, covered in forests cultivated from a variety of samples and grown with a mix of arcane and nature magics. There is abundant food and water, and countless caves and dens carved into the chalcedony and the surrounding rock provide shelter. Water runs in deep freshwater rivers, trailing rain where the meteor orbits. The Sanctum is a place of wonder and mystery, of learning and profound, deep magic—but it is fiercely defended, and it is as mysterious as it is beautiful.Sanctum Arcana began as the fever dream of its founder and current Grand Sorcerer, Yarrow. Yarrow yearned for a place she could study without the constant strife and struggle of eking out a living. One night, stricken with illness and high fever, young Yarrow stumbled deep into the Starwood Strand and sought a place to rest. She remembers little of the first night—only starlight and moonlight, the cosmos turning over her in dizzy whorls and streaks. She remembers eating roots and berries to assuage her body's needs. She remembers drinking deep of water tinged with raw mana and dreaming until she could not tell the dreams from reality. That wasn't unusual for her then—and she still struggles with it now—but she attributes her ideas to the mana in the water and her dreams. Signs from the Arcanist, as far as she's concerned.
Over the years, she's recruited many others to her cause. She feels as though her Charge is twofold—the Sanctum and her mate, Vesper. Vesper is the primary enchanter of their island, and well-known for her profound talents with enchantment and raw arcane magic. Insofar as Vesper is concerned, Yarrow is her Charge, and their bond is unbreakable. The Sanctum's cofounders include others, as well.
(Clan lore is a work-in-progress and will be updated as ideas come to me and coalesce into story threads.)

I'm still deciding how I want to do this, but there's a good chance I'll stay in Shadow and build a multi-elemental clan here. The other major choice would be Arcane? But we'll see. And this comment is mostly for the achievement. Never let it be said I don't hunt for what achievements I can manage.
Long live the magic, and long live the lesbians!
