At the reveal of Maestro the first thought Riyadh had was damage control. Tourmente is his employer, and anything that threatens his job threatens Riyadhs.

He deliberately chose Gilly as a partner to produce hatchlings, as he had heard of her resentment towards Imperials. If she was to continue working for this clan, she would need to learn to get over her feelings.

One day, as Riyadh was completing his projections, he discovered that Maestro would be able to have hatchlings a mere two days before Maraisente and Estrella. If Maestro took advantage of this, he could be declared Clan Leader. After hours of consideration, Riyadh came to the conclusion that the smart play in this situation (to keep his position) would be to back Maestro.
With this information, he plans to speak to him.
