Yale
Teacher

▬▬ BIOGRAHPY ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The hatchling's heartbeat skipped an erratic rhythm, drumming faintly against her chest. She was feverish, with sweat dripping down her brow, and her parents worried for her. The father stood over her, occasionally brushing away the sweat coalescing on her forehead. The mother huddled in a corner, her wings tented around herself and her tail coiled around her claws, as if she wanted to occupy the least amount of space possible.

The father sighed, leaving his newborn daughter for a moment to sit beside his mate. She jerked away silently. "It's not your fault." He said softly. "You didn't know."

"It doesn't matter," she whispered. "I did this. Not you. Not chance. Me. Because I'm carrying a disease. And now our daughter has it." She lowered her head slowly, weeping. "I'm a fool. "

"You're not a fool," he said adamantly, settling next to her "You're my mate."
He fell asleep on her shoulder but awoke the next morning to find her gone. He knew, without leaving their cave, that she had fled out of shame. He sighed quietly, sadly, and returned to his daughter's side. This dragon was the last remaining piece of his mate. He would do everything in his power to keep her alive.

And with careful nursing and stalwart surveillance, her heartbeat strengthened, her breathing evened out, and she stopped sweating. When she opened her eyes for the first time, he cried with joy. She was going to make it.

Yale's personality quickly emerged once she was able to leave her sickbed. She was a quiet little thing, rarely speaking unless directly spoken to, preferring to keep silent and ponder. She also was known for her love of books, something that most other hatchlings couldn't understand. They asked why she would read about another dragon's life when she could live her own. She would answer with a shrug and say, "Because some dragons lead more interesting lives."

She grew into a fine Wildclaw. With a sharp mind and a kind disposition, she was one of the more respected dragons in her clan. However, she tended to escape into the palace gardens, not leaving them for hours on end.

One day, as she was sitting on one of the benches reading a book about the Plaguebringer's urge to cover the land in rot, she felt eyes on her. She closed her book, scanning the area for the dragon looking at her. Finally, she met his gaze. He was a little... strange, to put it bluntly. He was staring at her with round, saucer-like eyes, his mouth pulled up into a small smile. She awkwardly smiled and gave a little wave. Then, feeling weirded out, she began to pull her things together to leave.

As soon as she did this, the dragon bolted over to her and began a conversation. As soon as he started speaking, she realized why he was acting so out of the ordinary, for any dragon. He liked her. As in... liked her.

So, she humored him, and together they had a wonderful talk. She could tell, although he slipped up and mispoke many times, that he was an intelligent dragon. When they were saying their goodbyes, it was Yale who asked if they could see each other again.

And as rendezvous led to dates, the two became mates. Her father supported her while she was falling in love, telling her to treasure the moments they spent together and hold fast in times of trial. And all that paid off in the end.

When they decided that they wanted to settle down, Yale suggested the Scarred Wasteland. At first, Harvard, her new mate, seemed a little dubious, even asking why there of all places. She told him about her past; how her mother fled, supposedly into the Plague lands, never to be seen again. She said that she wanted to go there, not to find her mother, but just to reconnect with an element that would always be apart of her. Harvard eventually agreed.

They found a ship were violence, magic and undeads were not allowed. It was completely dedicated to love and raising hatchlings, so the two figured it would be the perfect place for them to raise their children. When they moved, they quickly realized how perfect their decision was.

They both became teachers in the clan and proved that they were worthy of the position. With Harvard's raw knowledge and Yale's gentle guidance, their students grew to love them. They affectionately dubbed them Harvard and Yale, and the names stuck. Soon, everyone forgot what they had been called previously, so, now, everyone just addresses them by their nicknames.

Yale, although still quiet and a book-worm, is an adept speaker, keeping her students rapt with attention. When she's not teaching, she's usually curled up with her mate while reading a book. She swears to everyone that she meets that she would not take back any moment of any of her days spent with Harvard, even for a million treasure. And no one doubts that.

F guardians are one of my favs. She looks right at home on a ship! Totally see her and her crew mates singing sea shanties. Also I simply love points on her. The shadow color works wonders! I don't think a black would have worked so well.
