B I O G R A P H Y

Going to an apothecary is not usually a pleasant experience; going to one implies you're in need of a remedy, whatever that remedy is supposed to be. Bad days happen- sudden ulcers, headaches, insomnia- all kinds of irksome things that put you in a foul mood as you trudge to somewhere that might have something for what ails you.

Then, you enter an unassuming apothecary and a blue Skydancer happily greets you. Suddenly, your day just got a little better.

Apothecary assistants are not expected to know everything from the get-go. Ain certainly doesn't, but he makes up for it with his can-do spirit and great energy. There's something about Ain that just brightens everyone's day as soon as they see him. Perhaps that's one reason he was sent to work at the front so early- his presence seems to generate more patronage for the apothecary.

The Skydancer themselves are quite aware of the attention they're receiving but don't seem to give it much acknowledgement. The customers can be quite chatty around him but at least he can better deduce a remedy when such happens. There are definitely some patrons that are only visiting for him, however. Well, as long they buy something on their way out.

B I O G R A P H Y

A bloodied fist rises to the lighted sky as roars of the audience fill the arena, both in approval and disappointment. The fighter had made quick work of their opponent, perhaps too quick for their tastes. No matter, the fighter returns to the barracks to tend to their wounds. Tomorrow, their bandaged claws will work for an apothecary.

What would happen if the patrons of the apothecary knew of Ain's violent side? Disgust? Horror? Who knows? For many find it impossible to see the bright and kindly Skydancer before them, and coincide with it the image of a prolific brawler. Indeed, his employer and colleagues at the apothecary have known, informed by him personally, and still, they have a hard time wrapping their heads around the idea.

What drove Ain to be what he is now? Is it the machinations of the bloodlines he belongs to, or something else entirely? No, this was simply him- it always has been. There was never a divide between Ain the Apothecarist and Ain the Warrior. They were always one and the same and he never questioned or shied away from the strange contradiction of his interests, so much so that he sees it as not even worth talking about. This does feed into the unintentional secret of his night job as an entertainer of the arena but it's best that his work and hobby stay separated.
