The brotherhood

The brotherhood is a clan of pearlcatchers dedicated to the pursuit of higher knowledge and learning about what they call "God powers"

God powers are really just strong magic they have learned over years and years of practice and teachings headed down through the ages.

Since the brotherhood is all males, they obviously do not breed their population.( though there is no law against a member taking a mate) Instead, they have their high priest Bahumut ask the gods to lead him to the worthy. The members come from flights of all kinds, as long as Bahumut senses their magic potential to be high enough, they are inducted into the brotherhood.

Glimmer pearlcatchers are called "Star touched" and are believed to have a much higher hidden potential in magic than those without, and are believed to be gifted with hidden knowledge from the deities themselves.

There is a band of female pearlcatchers that travel with the Brotherhood called "life weavers" they are essentially nuns that have taken the oath of silence and serve the brotherhood. When a hatchling is brought to the brotherhood they are first taken to the life weavers. A life weaver knows a special type of magic that opens minds and makes comprehension and hidden potential unlock, allowing the hatchling deemed worthy of the brotherhood to learn faster and more in a shorter time. A female pearlcatcher is the only kind of dragon that can learn this type of magic, which is why the partner ship was forged so long ago.

It is very uncommon for the brotherhood to breed directly, but it is not unheard of. Generally they chose a life weaver to keep the magical blood line going and stronger. A member of the brotherhood is not bared from having a mate or finding love, they just generally spend so much time devoted to learning and magic that they find little time for anything else.

Lightning makes a lot more sense for someone named "Storm" anything! I don't really collect triples, I just have a bunch of them I'm hanging on to in hopes of getting lucky and making the new colors when I breed them once the wheel comes out. :)

lol, I know I do. I've got 8 babies on the way. I just had about 6 or 7 but I sold most of them and gave some to my girlfriend. I'm working on it but I'm being selective.
