Hardheaded, tough warrior. She isn't really popular in the clan, as her militaristic gung ho attitude tend to scare others away, but is highly respected for her fighting skill.
She's a bit grumpy, strong, and silent- but mostly just a big puppy dog. Kind of like her White Wolf familiar, Puffin. Both would do anything for those they love and follow.

Very fierce, very scary, very shiny. Takes scale care seriously. Seems to have a fixation with a certain rose-winged pearlcatcher [see file #22245128]; bought her a scarf. Comes from a family of warriors, was the youngest in her clutch.

Allegedly born without a visible tertiary gene, convinced Rose and her powerful magic to draft a rune scroll. In doing so, Rose inadvertently transferred part of her magic to Exousia, which resulted in the glowing blue runes across her scales and the brilliant, feathery white wings sprouting in addition to her own membranous ones. Along with her ferocity, this contributed to her unofficial title as "The Angel of War."

She aspires to officially be considered a part of her warrior family and grows stronger and stronger as she continues to train under the grizzled warrior, Myrrhina [see file #18833742].

Has been offered a sword many times; even a Valkyrie Blade, one of the finest ever made. Continues to decline. Prefers claw-to-claw fighting, much like her mentor. Almost denied the enhanced claws, and only accepted after continuous demonstration of their reliability and deadliness by Myrrhina. Goes as far as to scoff at those who use swords or even bows, favoring a dragon's natural weapons and making the wildclaw guard very angry- particularly Jakuzure.

aaaaa“To hell with it! To hell with them!” Exousia spat bright blue sparks to the ground. She shed the shadowscale armor, the darkforged spikes clattering across the obsidian she so well matched. The ebony plate armor followed immediately, clattering and ringing in disappointment. “To hell with the Night Warriors!” The dark rogue cape shredded under her claws. “To hell!” The roar echoed around the vaulted ceilings of the volcanic caves. She ripped off the gorgeous, useless golden bracelets and filigrees her mother was so fond of. They fell to the floor alongside her dark, bloodspattered scales. Her blood, of course, shot through with lightning blue cyan, scales spattered from her clumsiness in her frenzy to remove the loathed apparel. When she opened her maw the lightning blast shattered the delicately wrought jewelry. She’d like to say she roared again, but others would confirm the furious scream that rang through the fortressed kingdom.
Rose would later find the ridgeback curled amidst the wreckage, clutching a shattered shard of something that used to be gold, sobbing. A deep current of sadness filled the room, and Rose tried her best to add her understanding. “Do you want to talk?”
“No.”
Rose neatly curled her tail around her claws and waited. After a minute of sniffing and gasps, Rose turned to leave, but Exousia protested as soon as she heard the click of claws on obsidian.
“No. Please. Stay.” She pleaded between broken gasps.
Though the ridgeback dwarfed the pearlcatcher, Exousia seemed small as Rose approached. Static electricity crackled through her mane and she tried to ignore the scattered lighting blood around the room. She sat near Exousia’s head, simply waiting for her. Rose wasn’t sure how much time passed until Exousia began speaking.
“I hate them.” Her voice cracked with anger, though tears still marred her scales.
Rose felt electricity course though her claws when she cautiously wiped away a few. “Hate who?” she questioned softly.
“Pulchrior.” Exousia’s jaw worked as she considered another remark- a name, a word, a phrase, perhaps- and Rose waited for an elaboration, but Exousia remained silent. She began to smooth over the scratches in Exousia’s horns where earrings had been ripped away. A silence blanketed the room, thicker than the smoke in the Great Furnace itself. Rose murmured something indistinct.
“What?”
Another silence, and Exousia wondered if she had been hearing things. This silence was broken sooner.
“I, oh- I only said ‘I wish you would let me know if I could help you.’” Rose’s voice faltered and softed the closer she got to the end. She began to brush away cracked and half broken scales.
The conversation was fated to be full of silences, it seemed.
"I don't, not really."
"Oh." Rose froze, preparing to leave.
"No! No. I mean- Hate him. I don't hate him. I want-" Exousia toyed with a golden bangle, methodically folding it smaller and smaller with her claws until the fragile metal dented into an indistinct ball of dull gold. "I want my family to be proud of me."
Rose moved to Exousia’s wings, by far the worst-looking part. Wings bled a lot, she knew. Thin membranes and lots of capillaries. That was where most- if not all- of the blood was coming from, she’d wager. She began to pull together the smaller cuts, from viciously ripped bangles.
"I don't know if I can be like them," Exousia said.
With a claw motion like sewing, she began to send a thin thread of something glowing stitching through the wing. She had hesitated to start on the longer cuts; the sight of them made her... Sad, she thought, though she wasn’t sure why. They must hurt. The smaller dragon shook her head. That was why she had to stitch them up. They’d heal faster.
"I don't think you have to be just like them," Rose started, words coming out measured and careful, "for them to be proud of you." There was a drawn out quiet as the Night Warrior turned over the words. Rose had started on one of the longer rips from the inlaid filigrees when Exousia spoke again.
“Could I borrow- could I borrow some of your..." She made a motion with her claws as if she could pluck the right work from the air. "Your... brightness?” Exousia sounded pained.
“What?” Rose had never heard a ridgeback ask before “borrowing” something. And.. brightness? Rose was almost scared to ask, but Exousia had taken her first reaction as confusion about her wording.
“Your magic. Can you make me brighter?” She had turned her head to fix her gaze on Rose.
Rose was starting to put the puzzle pieces together now. She didn’t know much of Exousia’s family, but Pulchrior was well enough known in the Shifting Expanse for his legacy obsession, and Rose wasn’t above listening to gossip from Corvus. Rumor said he wanted to breed a legion of fierce dragons with dark coloring that blended in perfectly with the shadows, trained from birth and trained to such a high standard that only the greatest warriors among them were allowed among the elite ranks. There were more... unsavory rumors, for sure, and Rose found it hard to believe that he just wanted the satisfaction and pride of a powerful legacy, but then she had always been a sucker for conspiracies. Exousia... wasn't like that though, not at all.
“I-” Rose cut herself off and thought for a minute. She knew of scrolls that altered appearance of course, any mage worth their salt would. She also knew, of course, that they were notoriously hard to produce, which made them notoriously expensive. Still… if it was for Exousia, she was willing to try anything. “I think so. Yes.”
Exousia managed a small smile. "Thanks, Rose."
Rose thought she would fight the world for Exousia in that moment. "Oh, it's no problem." Her smooth voice belied little emotion, though.
"I know it's not." A pause. "And... thanks for listening." Exousia shuffled around her turned-over room until she came up with a scroll and an ink pen. "I think I have a letter to write."

Dear Father,

I'm ready.

"Listen, I don't have time for this. Take it up with Myrrhina or someone, I'm busy right n- a fighting tournament? …Alright, maybe I can make some time."
