Clan Information
The Briarrun Outpost of the Tangled wood spreads from the Driftwood Drag into the devoured ruins within the Foxfire Bramble. It is less a clan and more of a collection; an assortment of mismatched pieces discarded from other lairs.

Briarrun dragons are both a trading network for the Shadow Flight, and a loosely-governed tribe for enterprising dragons looking to carve out an independent living in the mysterious frontiers of the Shadowbinder’s kingdom. Resources are not easily obtained in the deeps of the Tangled wood, and cooperation amongst Shadow dragons is fleeting; the presence of this collection of tradesdragons and supporting members is critical to the economy and survival of the realm.

Every month, dragons of the outpost meet to settle disputes, carry out justice, and apportion resources during the Thornmoot-- a council meeting held by the presiding chiefs, Night and Chime; mated dragons whose authority stems largely from the fact that since the time when they established the outpost, no one else has wanted their job.

Chime is loquacious for a Fae; she handles negotiations and matters of diplomacy, while Night prefers to let his presence serve as a warning against unsanctioned mischief. Night gives the final word on settlements, laws, and appeals, and Chime delivers the verdicts.

Other Thornmoot members are responsible for making sure that no dragon, no matter how isolated, is left without necessities… as well as ensuring that no dragon, no matter how isolated, skips out on paying their taxes (usually in the form of labor: the thorn paths must be regularly cleared, and the tunnels kept lit). There are few laws that can be enforced in so wild a country with a population so sparsely distributed, but there are some rules that must be obeyed by residents and outsiders alike. The Outpost looks after its own.

The dragons of Briarrun are an incongruous lot; they have in common very little except their spirit of independence, curiosity, and a drive to explore the unexplored. Many have left or been driven out of other clans, others simply desire solitude. Most have secrets.
