My Clan Lore is still very vague, but it's got elements of like. Weird cult stuff and a dynasty. The dynasty was founded by an ex-mercenary who was shunned for her war crimes and fled to the Abiding Boneyard because she thought plaguelings have no morality whatsoever, but tales had apparently spread and she survived on her own(as she was not accepted by any other clan), becoming aquainted with her future mate, a native plague dragon that had been exiled from his clan due to dabbling in necromancy. He was impressed by her will to survive and they traveled as partners after initial troubles.
Together they founded an empire of oulaws, which has evolved into a rigid ruling system over generations. The true origins of the dynasty are known only to few, as the royal bloodline fears loss of their power should the secret be discovered - that they have no noble origins and have not earned their place as rulers. In fact, the deeper one would dig into the archives, the more they would discover... Secrets like the fact that the inherited style of clan magic is actually distantly related to the likes of necromancy and the art of animating the dead, a kind of magic not even the Plaguebringer herself condones.
The clan is not very well known to other clans, as they mostly keep to themselves. They do however have trading relations and occassional diplomatic discussions with others. Those are kept curt and on a strictly professional level, as the clan only tangentially cares about territory and other matters.
The clan is prepared for scenarios of strained relations and war, all the same - past conflicts have seen them struggle against plague purists and insurgent members of their own, who push against the strict social structures or the dubious magic. Rumours of remaining rebels inside the clan abound, which has led to a recent establishment of curfews and an iron-fisted jurisdiction.

But the clan is not as abrasive as it seems. After a period of introduction, the clan can be welcoming to outlaws and other oddities that happen to ask for shelter or company. After showing that they can be trusted and that they are good workers, along with following the law, the newcomers may be accepted into the society (although low in the caste-like system). Perhaps this attitude is the one thing about the clan's origins that has not been lost in the sands of time.
