❧ Bruinen Intelligent | Crafty | Crazed On the night of their hatching, the nest was attacked by the Beast clans. Glowstick fell in his attempt to protect the newly born hatchlings and the children were kidnapped by the enemy. During their struggle to escape from their captors, Bruinen was thrown into the river and almost drowned. Ever since then, the young hatchling had never been the same.

Imladris and his sister were taken in by a clan that had distant relations to Nyx. Because of the trauma the two hatchlings experienced and the chaotic situation back in their home clan, it was decided that the siblings would stay with their distant relatives until it was time for them to return. Bruinen grew up without much trouble. She appeared to be a bright young dragon on the outside, earnest in her pursuit in her quest to become a Night Warrior. But on the darkest nights, countless voices would speak to her, urging her to kill. At first, she shook it off, thinking nothing of it. Until one night, she found herself in a clearing with the blood of a young hatchling on her claws. She couldn't stop herself. She couldn't control the bloodlust that swept over her. It was a flood of madness- and she couldn't tell anyone about it, not even her brother. Eventually, the clan found out about her wrongdoings. Imladris was the one who stopped her craziness. It was only later that they found out that she had been cursed with a spell when their kidnappers had caught her and Imladris when they were younger. It was a latent spell that was set to manifest when she had her first clutch. Unfortunately, there was nothing that they could do to reverse the curse. They could suppress most of the effects, but that meant that Bruinen would never have a normal life. Bruinen was held in a cave with Stribog guarding its entrance. No one was to pass through him, except the elders of the clan and Imladris. By some strange twist of fate, the two dragons ended up having a clutch together. Only to discover that the curse was affecting Bruinen's line- only one out of a single clutch would survive the bloodlust that would befall them when they grew up. |
