✎. . . . . Mesanykhta Ghaut, Night Warrior and Leader of the patrols that ensure the safety of her adopted Arcane clan. She was born alongside her brother, Arnobius, in the Tempest Spire. Her parents were Orion and Morgana, one of the first Night Warriors and a powerful spellmaker respectively. In keeping with the duties of her parents, Mesanykhta and Arnobius were trained to follow their parents footsteps and go down the noble path of the Night Warriors. They would learn the arts of war and battle to become members of one of the most feared and respected warrior sects in Sornieth. Naturally, Mesanykhta excelled at the training. She leaped ahead of her brother in skill- battle skill, that is. The niceties of social and diplomatic interaction seemed to completely bore her, and thus she was almost immediately recognized as a powerful voice on the battlefield, but certainly not as the type of dragon who would be sent to improve ties with other clans. Arnobius was completely the opposite, adoring hatchlings of every kind and muddling his way through training. In the end, they were both formidable warriors, but like all creatures, they have their strengths and weaknesses.

Eventually, their father judged it best to send them away to learn from a Fae warrior: Othalo. Mesanykhta and Arnobius moved from the Shifting Expanse to the Starfall Isles, settling in with their new clan. Arnobius immediately made friends- Mesanykhta was more guarded. Honestly, a few of the hatchlings would later admit that they were actually quite afraid of her. She was a commanding presence, with a mask of steel firmly fixed as her expression. Stern, powerful, dedicated, and with a dead-pan sense of humor, it took a while for Mesanykhta to let any of the members of her new clan break through her armor. Particularly with a razor-sharp wit and a well-developed sarcastic tendency, there were more than a few occasions where her brutal honesty and pointed jokes were taken the wrong way. However, all it took for them to see the softer side of her was an accidental prank war with her brother Arnobius. While her pranks were direct, clever, and occasionally humiliating for her brother, her clanmates saw how she truly cared for him when he was cornered during a skirmish. (That incident eventually led to the end of the pranks and the entire clan breathed a sigh of relief.)

Once Othalo had taught both of them all he knew and deemed them fully-fledged Night Warriors, he elected to retire. Mesanykhta and Arnobius were left in charge of the Night Warriors in training, and with the protection of the clan. They were ready, and took to their mission with a will. Arnobius chose to train the new Warriors, who were also Othalo’s children, and Mesanykhta was appointed leader of the patrols. She was in charge of the small regiment, ensuring that no one hostile made it past the borders. Her troops rarely, if ever crossed her, and they honestly didn’t have much reason to. Even if they didn’t like her orders, they couldn’t deny that she was an excellent commander. She led them to victory in almost all battles, but only struck violently against the enemy when it was absolutely necessary.
