Biography
"Science and magic go hand in hand. No, I swear they really do!"
Serena travelled to the Shifting Expanse from Crystalspine Reaches with a singular goal in mind: To create the perfect unison between magic and science. She had already spent quite sometime developing her magical abilities with the Arcanist's territory and now it was time to study under the blue eyed Stormcatcher. She had steeled herself against what was to come. Her dark colors meant she would not be accepted by other coatls, but she at least hope they would recognize her magical power and allow her stay a while.
The more forward thinking clans laughed her out. "Magic and science? Together?" they would say in between outbursts. Serena would compose herself and leave with her head held high and a firmer set mind on what she wished to accomplish. Though even she felt that horrid feeling of despair slightly more each time her suggestions were laughed out of the labs. Her treasure bag became lighter and lighter with each passing day and her food stores with it. It was only a matter of time before she had to rethink her plan. As used her magic to slice open a cactus for a drink of water, she noticed an odd dust cloud in the distance. It was small and moving very, very fast in a singular direction. Curiosity became the better of Serena and after quickly restoring her water supply, she took flight after it.
The chase hadn't lasted long as the dust cloud had noticed her following it and came to a stop. It introduced itself as Muneca. Turned out that the mirror had simply going at such a fast velocity that it stirred up dust behind him. The young mirror said he had been on his way home after a quick search of the surrounding area. He then asked if she wanted a place to stay for the night to which she thoughtfully nodded yes to. When the two arrived, the first thing that struck her was how utterly lacking in technology the clan was. She had assumed all lightning clans flourished with their gizmos and research. Muneca simply explained that that wasn't what this place was then hurried off on his own.
Serena had found an empty lair left behind by some other dragon to sleep in for the night when she saw a head poke in. This was when she met Aria. After a brief conversation, Aria suggested that Serena should go visit their Alchemical Scientist, Rabble. She did just that the very next day. When she told him her ideas, Rabble got a wild look in his four eyes and started to madly scribble down ideas how to incorporate magic into his already existing inventions, called his assistances to his side and when they didn't come (as per usual Serena later found out) he scurried deeper into his lair to grab them while yelling over his shoulder for her to come back later when he had some initial designs laid out. She left the lair slightly confused, but with her spirits raised as she finally found someone who took her seriously.
As she headed back to her temporary lair, Serena caught a glimpse of Aria playing with several other hatchlings. She was quite more efficient than the other hatchlings at wrestling and won every match. She had started to walk over to thank the young one for her advice when he swooped down into the nest grounds. Though his colors not as painfully dark as her own, he would have most definitely been cast out of his clutch. Gently, he removed Aria away from the other hatchlings with such care that she had at first thought he was her father. Before Serena had a chance to react to the similar coatl, he flew away, up along the mesa and into a lair.
A few days later, when Serena found Aria once again wrestling with the other hatchlings, the young nocturne explained that Thesus, the purple coatl, was her cousin and they both descended from a line where their dark colors were revered. Curious about both these Night Warriors and what Rabble had cooking in his lab, Serena decided to make her stay slightly more permanent in nature than she had originally intended.
