Iris pursued Kiernan.

When she first spied the handsome skydancer, she had no idea of his lineage, heritage, or abilities. However, the wise and curious alchemist of the Battleborn Clan soon discovered much more. Unlike some skydancers, Kiernan did not wish to live too close to the clan, nor other dragons. His battle-weary heart sought silence among the greenery. He would rally to the Clan's defense, and uphold his duties as both a child of the Night Warriors and Celestial Runners. But then he would once more retreat to his solitude.

So Iris had to pursue him.

First, she made his herbal poultices to help heal his battle wounds. Then she made meals for him to take along on his journeys. Finally, she secretly planted herbs she'd need near his lair as an excuse to come see him even more often. Of course, he knew she did this, and still he refused to open up to her. But she was resilient, and a little stubborn.

Slowly his heart softened, and he began to talk. Soon these short snippets of conversation grew
in length, until they were sharing more and more intimate details.

Then he came to her workshop, with sacks full of ingredients for her cauldrons. Shortly thereafter she began to follow along on some of his journeys - to collect ingredients of course.

It was during a combined trip to the ice fields that Iris had to make a nest. They were too far from their home territory and it was time. The magic of the icefields imbued the eggs with the power and blessings of Ice Flight, and soon after their first hatchlings were born.
