The dragons live inside a mountain called "Charcoal Mountain".
_____________________________________________________________________________
A mysterious mountain, black all over. Fog surround the bottom, giving it an eerie feel. There's never good weather, only wind and rain, with clouds blocking the sun. Dragons avoid Charcoal Mountain at all costs, afraid of what lies within. Only the bravest dragons enter, to find what lies within.

A large cave is embedded into the mountain on top. An adventurer explores in the middle of the night, yearning to find what dangers lie within. Finally, after flying through the cave for quite a while, a light appears at the end. They come to the edge of a cliff leading to an indoor world. There are golden lights hanging from the ceilings, brightening the whole other world. Dragons from all types of clans and elements come together, enjoying each other's company. There are houses and buildings of all colors, resting on still. There are stairs connecting them, with landers and icicles hanging on the rails. The dragons can fly, but don't for fear of what lies below the fog. Although they are a little bit afraid, they don't let that ruin the wonderful world they have. There are hangouts, with fire pits and music. There are dragons writing scrolls inside busy offices, and dragons painting on canvases. No intruders ever come in the cave, so everyone is safe.

How it all began:
Everyone was extremely happy living in a small nature clan. All dragons, of many types, got along extremely well all living in harmony together. Then one day a plague struck, wiping out almost the entire clan. Only one dragon was left, and his name was Kiyoshi. He called himself Kiyo, and never told anyone his real name. He grew extremely ill from the plague, so a healer named Ches annd her adoptive daughter Elipses were sent to save Kiyo. They flew him across the Sea of a Thousand Currents back to their own clan, where he recovered, under the watchful eye of Elipses.
Kiyo's P.O.V.
“I’m feeling a lot better. I think I can fly now.” I try to convince Elipses. “I want to be sure. Please, just rest for one more day.” She replies, worried. I give her a look that begs, and finally she agrees to let me attempt flying. We walk through the rock tunnel, leading to an open field. It looks as if the plague was yesterday, bringing back terrible memories. “Are you alright, Kyoshi?” Elipses asks, seeing the pain on my face. I nod my head reassuringly, and land in the field. “Ok, get ready! Remember, control your speed, and only hover. I don't want you to use too much energy—” “I got this Elipses.” I say, preparing for flight. To be honest, I am slightly worried that this won't end well, but I shove that feeling behind me as I start to hover. I breath heavily for a minute, forgetting how to land, but then feeling the rush of the wind, take off. I swoop passed Elipses, zig-zagging through trees and passing by birds. I haven't felt this alive since the day before the plague, and the rush is amazing. I fly up higher and higher, reaching the clouds, and gaze at the beautiful horizon. Suddenly, the wind stops. Remembering I was only supposed to hover, I fall. I fall farther and farther, worried that this will be the death of me. Right as I am about to hit a tree, Elipses dives below me, safely pulling me back onto the ground. “Yep, you totally had that.” She says while rolling her eyes. I chuckle at the sarcasm, and reply, “I knew what I was doing, you didn't have to ‘save’ me. I was just testing you to see if you were watching. Plus, now you know that I can fly just fine. I can't wait to leave this place. I’ve been waiting ever since the day of the plague to feel the adrenaline of flight, and now I really want to bring back the clan that was destroyed. Maybe we can start over?” “Well… maybe it's time that we found some other dragons. I'm not sure about starting a new clan though. That would take a long time.” Elipses says. I give her a hopeful look. She never said no, she just also never said yes. “Ok, I'll sleep on it. Maybe I'll wake up and want to leave, but it all depends. Now let's go back, the sky's getting dark.” I look up, noticing the newly formed stars resting in the sky, and the moon shining, replacing the sun. We fly back through the tunnel, and I fall asleep immediately, already excited for the adventure that awaits. Well, the adventure that might await.
“YES, YES, YES, YES, YES!” I scream. “I never thought of you as the squealing type, but I guess anything is possible.” Elipses smiles. I never actually believed that I would be able to leave this place. We can finally start over. “Let’s go!” I say happily. We race out of the tunnel, zooming through the sky, only to abruptly halt. “Hold on, where will we go?” I ask, finally thinking this through. We both fly back down, seeking shade. We eventually find a big oak tree. We rest underneath the leaves, still dripping from morning dew, and think out loud. “I know! There is a large mountain across Terror Lake. All we need to do is cross it, and we can start the clan inside the mountain!” Elipses decides. “Brilliant! Let's try to get there by sky fall.” I say, and we take off for the second time, flying through the sky. We reach Terror Lake by lunchtime, and decide to get some fish from the lake. I hover over the lake, watching the fish, until I find one close enough to the surface to catch. I hover down, and stick my claws into the ice cold water. “Hey Kiyo, do you think there is a reason that this Lake is called Terror Lake?” Elipses asks shakily, staring past me. “Why do you ask—” I reply, turning to see what she is looking at. My eyes widen, as a dark shadow pulls me underneath the water. I struggle to breath, thrashing around as the creature pulls me lower. A giant blue dragon, with razor-sharp teeth and long, sharp claws brings me lower, to the point where I can see the bottom of the lake. I pull away, only making it stick it's claws into me harder. I scream, sucking in a lot of water as my vision starts to fade. The dragon almost wins, but then it starts to cough. It chokes for a couple of seconds, and I blink, begging for sight. The dragon reels back suddenly, letting me go free. I swim as fast as possible upward, the surface right above me. I start to lose energy, and slow down, but something pulls me up. I breath as much air in as possible, thankful for my life. I look forward to see Elipse smiling, but then I hear water crashing up and down. I look down, and see the water dragon struggling to swim upward, causing waves. “Come on, we need to get out of here.” Elipses says, turning away. “I'm not leaving.” I reply and dive towards the water. “NO!” I hear Elipses scream before I swim through the lake. I grab onto the dragon, who's obviously dazed, and break through the surface of the lake, letting it breath. Then, I swim towards the land. Elipses flies down and grabs onto the dragon, helping me pull it. Once we get to the land, I pull the dragon out of the water, and it stops coughing. It's only then that I realize how small it is. “I'm sorry, I–I thought you were trying to catch me.” The dragon says shakily. She's a child, all alone in the lake. “What were you doing in Terror Lake? Are you a water dragon? Where's your clan?” Elipses asks, worried for the little dragon. “I'm an arcane dragon. I don't have a clan, and I don't have a home so I was just swimming in the lake.” “You don't have a home?” I ask? “No.” She replies. “You could always come with us. We're gonna start a new clan on Charcoal Mountain.” “Really? Thank you!”
By the time we reach Charcoal Mountain the sun is setting. The sky is beautiful, with shades of lilac, rose, and orange in it. Elipses and I have taken the dragon, whose name is Indigo, under our wings, and she will live in Charcoal Mountain with us.

(I haven't read the first book in so long that I felt so nostalgic reading the graphic novel ;-;)
WoF is the best--have you read the graphic novel for the first book yet? It's really cute (except for the gory parts ;-;)
