Aura

An acquired taste is usually the phrase that most of the Clan will use when describing Aura. Visitors and newcomers to the clan alike will often be warned to stay out of the lieutenants' way, and, it only takes several seconds of being in Aura's presence for one to find out why they should heed such words of caution. Aura is not a dragoness to be trifled with. Blunt and to the point she takes all of the stereotypes connected to the Spiral species and tosses them to the four winds in shreds. Overly excitable? No. Flighty, fickle and unreliable? No, no and no. Where other Spirals might twist themselves into knots, Aura is always calm and in control, possessing an economy of movement that any warrior might envy. Where other Spirals might fly off into different tangents, Aura's clarity of focus is the envy of some and intimidating to many.

That is not to say that Aura has a one tracked mind. The boundless energy attributed to her species is used to its full limit as she keeps track of training the Acolytes on top of tending to the security matters of the Clan. As such Aura is always busy and has no time for chatter and small talk and other sociable activities. She comes off as aloof and standoffish, unapproachable to all but Izzy and Helena and the boldest Acolyte recruits. Though she only has a handful of close friends, Aura every single dragon in the Clan close to her heart. Everyone is important in her eyes, and the reason why she works so hard and takes no chances when it comes to safety is that all of their lives are paramount. Aura is loyal to a fault. She cares deeply about her home and will fight to the death to protect what is most important to her.



"I had that under control!"

Nowhere on Sornieth is more beautiful and dangerous than the Starwood Strand. It is the first line of defense against the encroaching rot of the Plaguelands after all and under its whimsical exterior dark secrets dwell. Emboldened Beastclans prowl between the trees waiting to pounce on unsuspecting Clans. Aura was born into this savage environment, and from a young age began her training in the arts of observation and ambush. She was taught how to track and set traps, map work, and combat. Her Clan was nomadic, moving from one area to the next and with each Beastclan they confronted and defeated Aura's confidence grew.

"I had that under control!"

It became both a mantra and a battle cry. As she reached the age of majority Aura was proving herself to be a capable leader. Her Clan could not claim to be as carefree or as free-spirited as the Spirals of the Windswept Plateau, but Aura displayed a fierce drive to protect her family and defeat her enemies. After one victory after another, they started to say that her plans and strategies were blessed by the Arcanist, but, as they say, pride goes before the fall and tragedy struck. Fate dealt her a cruel hand, and the last she saw of her father was of his form tumbling into the sea driven into the waters by a landslide manufactured by the Serthis. She did not have that situation under control, and in her shame, Aura ran.

The Clan did not need a failure like her.

Her thoughts became darker as she continued to isolate herself. Aura ran without having any destination in mind and ended up in the Viridian Labyrinth, adrift and confused. She had lost her fighting spirit, and so when confronted by Talonok, Aura was close to letting them take her. She was saved when the hulking figure of a female Guardian crashed onto the scene, and the sight of her savior fighting to protect her ignited something in Aura that she long thought was dead. The fought back to back and when it was all over the Guardian, who would become known to her as Izzy, offered her an amused smile and said;

"Well, it looks like you had that under control."

Since then, Aura has stayed with Izzy's clan once more taking up the role as protector. She works tirelessly to defend her Clan though she is not as cocky as before she has also learned through Izzy's patience that she should not blame herself should things spin out of control. As it is, the true test is working under pressure and finding new and creative ways to regain the upper hand. Aura, ever the perfectionist is on the right path to doing just that.
