The Snake’s Labyrinth, acquired its name from the countless twisting and intertwining caves and tunnels that spread throughout the labyrinth. Asp’s Ruin is an old decaying citadel that sits over the entrance of the Snake’s Labyrinth, the courtyard led to the bramble covered entrance of the Labyrinth, a large tower… one of the few remnants of the old structure which hadn't fallen to time and the brambles of the Tangled Wood. At the top of the old tower there sat a worn but magnificent throne room, an old marble table sat in the middle of the room, the throne at the head of the table, snakes with opal eyes carved into the obsidian. Many different chairs lined the sides of the table, some with symbols carved into them, to the right of the throne a Pearl tangled in Ivy, a Cog, a Butterfly, a Map and a Fiery Torch, the chairs to the thrones left were bare of symbols. Doors on either side of the chamber lead to smaller rooms each with a different purpose, a room with poisons and healing salves, a cartographer's office and a forge each with a symbol on the doors – a Pearl tangled in Ivy, a Map and a Fiery Torch. Deep below Asp’s Ruin stood the Viper’s Fang a colossal underground cavern and the main hub of activity, with many family dens and individual caves lining the walls, the mouth of the cavern is covered in a light layer of brambles, vines and ivy, enough that the chamber isn't visible from above but dragons can still fly though the foliage and up into Asp's Ruin. A large staircase dugout of the walls leads from the mouth of the chamber downwards, along the steps are jars hanging from blooming vines filled with fluttering fireflies to light the way down as the staircase in covered in a thick layer of ivy, at the bottom of the stairs there's a large reservoir of deep crystal like water, a mossy stone bridge leading from one side to the other. The water was littered with lilypads and flower petals. On the back wall there's a massive marble statue of a dragon in a mask, two monstrous flowering trees stand strong on either side, the deity of the labyrinth. More often than not a dragon can be found sleeping in the arms of the humongous trees. If one was to swim deeper into the reservoir they would make their way down to the Eel’s Maw, a large underwater cave lit by bioluminescent jellyfish and coral, the walls lined with cracks that make up the homes of the dragons living here. To the right of the statue stood the opening to the nursery, the nursery was decked out in plushies, colourful rugs, firefly lights, story books, parchment, just about anything a grubby little hatching could desire and to the left sat the healing ward the entrance lined with flowery healing herbs, polished stone floors, medicinal herbs hanged up to dry, tomes, parchment, soft silk cloth bedding, fluffy wool blankets and potted flowers. |
