Xartoh was surprised to find others of her bloodline when she joined the clan, but she was mostly dismissed. She didn't challenge whatever power order they established, nor was she interested in training whatever power may lie dormant within her. Content and happy, that's the goal! While her cousins scoffed at her, she could argue she was the most successful one out of them all. Other dragons didn't avoid her or approached her only to measure their powers against theirs. Pissing contests are below her.

A single more string. Shiny, ethereal, precious. And still, easily woven into the precious fabric. Smooth, soothing, the very best kind. Made of strings created by the earliest rays of morning star, caught onto Xartohs fingertips. Precious gift from her mother, no matter how small the fragment of the power it was that she inherited. Mara was vastly more powerful than Xartoh could imagine, but seeing what the very power brought to her mother, her bitterness from childhood was left behind easily.

Still, she was lonely, even if she had what she would arguably call friends. Even RAM, whose father is an enemy of her mother, occasionally lets himself enjoy Xartohs company. Still, she couldn't complain to him about how the rumors of their parents, aunts, and uncles are affecting her. It's not that she was exactly close to any of the elders, or even the younger ones, but it broke her seeing them fighting, hurting each other. Siblings against siblings, waging war with no clear winner, leading each other to ruin. So she poured her sadness into weaving and continued working. If she could drown her sadness in her creations, she would.

As the elder continued their battles, the fabric stock grew, and soon Xartoh had to use it, get rid of it, anything. There was barely any space in her workplace and it was even more stressful than before. She used the fabric, created the smoothest clothing. The first piece didn't turn out perfectly as she hoped, but it was expected. Her eyes were tearing while she was making it, after all. She decided to keep the first, imperfect piece of bright yellow fabric for herself. She didn't really have anywhere to wear it, but it was comforting, being in something of her own creating. As she started on the second piece, the bright color slowly turned darker, and darker, until it matched her dark feathers. She blinked away tears stuck in her eyes, narrowing them while slowly touching the clothes. The color started changing again, turning green at places, staying dark on the others. She should continue the second piece but this... This will take her mind off things for a while.

After spending enough time in the new piece, she deduced that the fabric changes depending on her mood and feelings. Sadness is dark, surprise or uncertainty are green, happiness is bright yellow, disgust is purple, anger maroon. She had seen many more colors but is unsure what emotion to attribute to each, still. There is enough time, but for now, it is, indeed, keeping her mind off the waging war out there, somewhere, between her brethren. She will, if nothing else, gift some of her fabric to her clans' cousins. Maybe they can work out their differences before they follow the path of their elders. Perhaps she should send some to the elders, too.
