Theona's Clan

Hazel Clan was accidentally founded by Matilda, a young Mirror from the Shrieking Wilds. While coerced into employment under Beacan, a necormancer who had long made his headquarters in the haunted Hewn City , she started a clan as a cover for her real mission, searching for a set of odd, sealed chests burried somewhere in Sornieth. Immediately after claiming a run down cave for her 'clan', she was joined by Kasper, a researcher who was returning to Virdian Labyrinth after having made the Abiding Boneyard to hot hold him, and his young, irresponsible apprentice, Felix. Kasper was too absorbed in his research of the small, noxious creatures of Sornieth to notice or care why Matilda and Felix were excavating various strange areas of Virdian Labyrinth and other parts of Sornieth. It was on one of these exavations that they found Cecily and Mimi, still reeling from a devistating Emperor attack which had driven them from their home clans. With nowhere else to go, they joined Matilda, Kasper, and Felix and together the fivesome began to work to develop the abandoned cave into a true lair.

Kasper and Matilda might have been satisfied with a quieter existance, but Cecily had other ideas. Her ordeal with the Emperor dragon grew into something of an obsession and she focused on building up their lair so she and her new clanmates would never suffer at the claws of the Emperors again. Because she had left her home clan at a young age, she had never learned the true facts behind Emperor dragons and drew on half remembered tales from when she was a hatchling and strange superstitions. Neither Kasper nor Matilda had much interest in building a clan, and as time went on, Cecily slowly assumed control...

As their lair grew larger and more powerful, Beacan quietly dropped out of Matilda's life and other troubles took the place of her mission. While Kasper had been born in the Everbloom Gardens and moved to the Abiding Boneyard for his research, Felix was a native to the plague domain and though lazy, had always possessed unnaturally powerful magic. As he grew up, Kasper began to suspect that Felix's high magic levels were a side effect of some sort of infection he had picked up during their time in the Abiding Boneyard.

Dragons grow up quickly and live a long time, and before long Hazel Clan grew into a large clan made up of Kasper, Matilda, Mimi, and Felix's many descendants, other dragons who had joined from all over Sornieth, and discontented members of some of the beast clans. Cecily never bonded to a mate and threw all of her energy into building their lair into an absolute fortress, complete with a personal guard she had recruited while Kasper and Matilda weren't paying attention (not that they cared).

The Hazel Clan is currently at peace (mostly), but although Matilda has forgotten about (wiz) and his manner followers, he has not forgotten about Hazel Clan. And recently some of the younger dragons, including Matilda's two youngest children, and Mimi and Felix's grandson dug out some of Matilda's old maps and have been digging up some very strange scraps of parchment...
