Kyne: Lost Ones
Notes:
- Shadowslash's older sister: only knows him by his birth name of Adrian.
- Separated from him at a young age when their home was attacked by Abyssus Altam.
- Completely deaf from birth, Kyne heavily relies on an enchanted locket made for her by her mother Rave. The locket lets her sense when someone is speaking, the general tone and volume of the words, and any associated emotion.
- Unfortunately the emotion-conveying aspect of the locket is not perfect. Grief and heartbreak are conveyed as physical pain, anger causes the locket to heat up, and confusion makes Kyne feel nauseous and dizzy. She hasn't tried to fix any of these magical flaws though.
- Kyne communicates through Mirrorlight Sign Language. But she usually lip reads, as she has been taught to speak common Draconic. There are still many words she can't pronounce properly though, and she has a tendency to over-enunciate many of her words, but it gets the point across.
- Becomes uncomfortable around strangers and those of the opposite sex.
Especially strangers of the opposite sex. - Her pet Parda's name is Leo and he's the only guy that Kyne trusts. Leo chirps incessantly, and Kyne has trained him to do so on command when she's uncomfortable. It can annoy some dragons so much that they leave, which is exactly why Kyne does it.
- Kyne physically cannot fly due to an injury in her infancy that snapped both her lower wing bones and never quite healed right. If one was to run a hand down her wing limbs, they would be able to feel and see a scar line on each wing, a few inches out from her shoulder. The injury doesn't cause her any pain anymore, and she can still retains a full range of motion with her wings, but they cannot hold her full body weight on their own.
- Kyne shares the thoughtfulness, elegant touch, and relatively expressionless facade of her brother-- although to her it is in her nature to hide, rather than a habit. Despite usually keeping a firm grip on her emotions, she cares very deeply for the people around her and this makes her very prone to breaking her facade when someone she knows and trusts is threatened.
- She's always had a flair for the dramatic. If she can communicate through visual allusion and allegory, or take something to it's natural extreme, she will.
This carries over into her magic, which is more scholarly than combat magic, comprised of things like shapeshifting, illusion, and charm spells. - Her theme song is either unironically The Sound of Silence
(the Pentatonix cover specifically),or Lost Girls by Lindsey Stirling. I haven't made up my mind.
