Info on Naomi here. I'll Wait I always thought my ability was a gift. Born of a reality-breaking bloodline, I was able to do something amazing, something that other dragons were in awe of - and I did it often. I communicated with the exalted. My father and brothers had this ability, too, but I was the only one who could actually control when this ability was to be put into use. Key word: I was. I saw them every time. I went out of my way to do so. So often would I escape to the world of the exalted, that I was more often a statue than a dragon on the surface world. They were tall, graceful, and light emitted from them; stars trailing in their path as we walked side-by-side in the realm of the forgotten. This went on for many weeks, or possibly months, perhaps it was years, and every single time I came from my reality to theirs, they were there - they were already patiently waiting for my arrival. Until they day that I arrived, as usual, and they were not there, so I went looking for them - asking everyone I came across, following all the clues and the map inside my head until at last I found them, in a foggy, dream-like forest, illuminated only by the stars, lying motionless on the ground, silver ichor dripping from their wounds. I cried out and ran to their side. Their eyes were glassy, but their voice was calm: "Don't let your tears fall over me, my love. I will see you once more. It is far too late for me now, but we will meet again. You must let go now. We'll see you again." Those were the last words before I woke up in my own reality once again and ever since then I haven't been able to return to the world of the exalted. I lost them. It's been three years. I'm still waiting for them. |
