He didn’t like this.

Whatever the hell this was. There were seconds when he thought that he knew what it was, when he felt as though he was so close to grasping something, but then the feeling would trickle away, leaving him just as adrift as before. Nothing made sense anymore, or maybe it never had. He didn’t know. He couldn’t remember, and that was wrong, too because he always remembered. Or he thought that he had. But now there were pictures in his head, images that felt as though they should be as familiar as his own name, but then even that seemed confusing. The pictures even more so. Puzzle pieces that didn’t match anything, or maybe he didn’t match anything. Who was he anyway? He knew the dragons? people? beings? around him, but he didn’t know how. He had no names. No memory. But he knew them. He felt safe with them, or he thought he did. Did he think? What was thinking?

Umbra is a strange Greater Crow. They seem to be a hatchling permanently with extremely potent effluvia. From careful (and distanced) study, we found that their child-like state was the catalyst to such a strange strain of Crow effluvium. Its effects are stated below.

Umbra emits a fatal vapor, also called "Effluvium", which they use to hurt their enemies. The miasma of this gas seems to drain the life from these enemies. This effluvium can also be recalled back to Umbra to even recover their own vitality while draining the opponent's own. This effect has been seen healing the wounds sustained during a fight.

It still has the frenzy effect and Umbra rarely recalls their miasma during a brawl, still a proud Greater Crow at heart.

The well-meaning general turned gladiator was twisted into this creature that ruled over the lands with iron-reenforced claws.

As the Wasteland Warlord, Umbra lived by a simple but exacting code of law, honor, and hard work. He was ruthless but not unnecessarily cruel, and pragmatism drove his every decision. Though he treated visitors with obvious contempt, Umbra's first thought was to use them before the thought of killing them even crossed his mind. His methods gained him a huge following, making the cunning creature even more dangerous.

As Umbra, the Mad Child, they have become erratic and utterly insane with rare moments of sanity making the hatchling hard to predict and frustrating to listen to. Their temperament is fickle and their speech hard to follow. The only guaranteed emotion is a seething hatred, though who it's directed towards is a mystery, and there's no effort made to hide this venomous outlook on life. Umbra's fangs grind against themselves, their eyes are shifty, and they look as though they would rather be somewhere else.

He felt wrong.

Or maybe everything else felt wrong. He didn’t know. Couldn’t put his finger on what it was that was wrong. Something was wrong? What had he been thinking? He wasn’t sure anymore, unable to see anything but the flickering of an image or an idea. Or maybe it wasn’t even that. An illusion? A figment of his mind? His mind… that was wrong…his mind was wrong… he knew that, or he thought that he did somewhere in amongst the confusion, and the wrongness. He knew what? It was gone again. Something was gone. He wasn’t sure what, just that it was wrong and that he didn’t like it. Just as he didn’t like the strange taste in his mouth, the voices raised in panic around him, their words as foreign to him as his own thoughts.
