Akuji 
Odd-one out
Akuji was different - different from his siblings, different from his parents. His body didn't look right. It was shiny where it was supposed to be snake-like, and his eyes were a lively blue where his parents' were a haunting white. He just wasn't right, and nobody knew what to do with him.
His parents did their best to ignore the differences he displayed, but his siblings didn't care for him at all. The creatures that surrounded him picked on him for being wrong. He wasn't meant to be and everyone made sure he knew. From his parents, he did his best to hide the pain that came with all the heckling and hissing. But, no matter what he did, no creature that lived in the expansive gardens with them would accept him for what he was, and it pushed him closer to the edge each day.
Once Akuji was old enough to survive on his own, he wasted no time in disappearing from that terrible land where he grew up. Now, he wanders from place to place - still terrified of further rejection - trying to find a space to call his home.
