Registered Generation 2 Night Warrior Karles, a midnight-lapis Guardian seemingly covered in blue gems, is the matriarch of the Ranunculaceae Clan. Her Guardian Charge is the ruby she wears around her neck in a silver setting; she found it one day in the wreckage of an avalanche. A seer confirmed it to be the Jewel of Winter Blood, a gem prophesied to be the centrepiece of crown for a future king of peace. Karles is a very tolerant dragon, as one needs to be as a mate to someone like Chervil, but she's also very determined. She shares her mate's goal to make her clan as strong and successful possible. She wishes to accomplish this by hatching and growing strong young dragons and teaching them the ways of the world and how to fight. She is a fighter, and knows precise ways to intimidate and vanquish almost anyone and anything. However, she still has strong mother instincts that turn her into a softie around little hatchlings. When interacting with her clan, she is usually very talkative and easygoing, but when there is a dispute she becomes hard as steel. She will be with anyone who needs protecting, as is her nature as a Guardian and a matriarch, but will take the side she truly believes is right in any argument. Sometimes that has had her face Chervil, but her determination got her through. She would be willing to have eggs with anyone if it was needed to help her clan, but she'd rather stick by Chervil's side. Karles was born in the middle of a snowstorm, in a large lair in the Frigid Floes. She has never left the Southern Icefield but for once in her young adulthood when a gathering party she was in was sent to the Ashfall Wastes. On the way back, they got caught in the Twisting Crescendo. She swore never to return to the continent after that. She did not spend many years in the Frigid Floes, as her clan moved to the Snowsquall Tundra shortly after, but she remembers the grey-white sky and the clear blue heart of the icebergs. In the Tundra, Karles as a teenage dragon spent days roaming the backcountry with her two closest friends. Those are her most treasured memories, and she has no end of stories to recount from her ventures. Once, they walked over a ridgeline and came across the Ranu Clan. She was struck by the potential for greatness in the proud way they carried themselves, quite different from the mellow clan she lived in. Some years later, when the clan disbanded after a civil war, she set off to find them. She joined the clan in the Cloudscrape Crags, and has lived there ever since.
