Welcome, new Acolight! My name is Halaju, and I hope to help you settle into Light Flight. From charities to Dominance, I hope to provide you with all the information you need to enjoy Flight Rising!

Let's start off with the basics. You should make sure to read Flight Rising's Terms of Use if you have not done so already. The ToU is located in the Encyclopedia, which can be accessed via the direct link provided or under the "Library" heading of Flight Rising's sidebar. It is full of useful articles, from account support to official site lore to the many activities you can participate in.

I wager that Flight Rising's breeding system is what initially attracted you? Breeding projects can be very satisfying to complete, coming up with a dream in the Scrying Workshop and then making it a reality. But keep in mind breed and gene rarity. Find out more here:

But of course, breeding that perfect dream dragon can be expensive! In fact, many Acolights have expensive goals that they are pursuing, and many utilize techniques for making treasure.

The two most popular are, firstly - selling items needed for Swipp's trades and/or Baldwin's recipes. Check out the items you need to keep.

The second, and the one most commonly used here in Light Flight, is exalting for profit. Light is very involved in Dominance, the weekly struggle for first place on the leaderboards - the discounts awarded are really helpful!

To take full advantage of exalting for profit, it is necessary to have a team of Level 25 dragons for the Coliseum. Check out these two absolutely essential guides for leveling to 25:

However, even following Culex's guide for speed-leveling, it takes time to get a dragon to 25... and the essential Eliminate stone is prohibitively expensive. Light Flight has a number of services to help new members get a leg up in the Coliseum:

It can be especially profitable to participate in each flight's festival - ours, the Brightshine Jubilee, is in June - held during the last week of each month. Check out these guides on the best ways to spend your time during festivals:

In addition to being a very profit-oriented flight, Light is known to go all-out during contested Dominance weeks. We work as one community where everyone is free to participate or not according to their strengths and playstyle. Light's motto is Everyone Can Dom. To that end, we are very organized here in Light:

But perhaps Dominance really isn't your thing - and that's okay! - you can show your flight pride any way you like, or not at all. We have a Signature Hub full of glittery flight graphics if you want to show off your Light spirit.

Perhaps you enjoy writing, whether via RP or in your dragons' bios. There are many resources around Flight Rising for lore. Some are RP-focused, so reading the Roleplay Etiquette guide would be a good idea. Some are community-focused, such as Letters from Hatchlings and Common Draconic: A Conlang Project.

And some are best suited for your dragons' bios, such as Writing a Lore Clan. Many people enjoy making their dragons' bios pretty, and two great resources for that are the BBCode Guide and Comprehensive Bio Resources. The former teaches you basics for fancily coding your bios; the latter has lots of images for making them pretty.

What is a subspecies, you ask? Subspecies are player-created, revolving around a central lore concept, with specific color and gene requirements. Sometimes there may also be a breed or flight requirement as well. Find out more about Light's subspecies here!
