About Me
Hi, I'm Patch! :) I joined back when FR first opened, and I've been playing sporadically ever since. Most recently, I'm returning from a 5-6 year hiatus that began sometime in 2016. My biggest interest on Flight Rising is lore and storytelling. I'm in the process of redoing my clan lore and character bios in between my other writing projects. Pearlcatchers, especially females, are my absolute favorite. <3
Outside of FR, I'm a college student majoring in a humanities field and I also work part time (which means I log into a lot of shared networks and from a few different devices).
You can find my lore below. There are some minor deviations from the FR canon (mostly in breed sizes) that I might write out someday. I'm hoping to make a comprehensive lore/story thread sometime.
If one of my dragons is on the front page, I'd love a comment on my page about it. :)

The organization formally known as the Conclave of Itheryia— typically referred to as the Society— is a group of dragons devoted to the study and preservation of magic in its many forms. The Society prefers to operate behind the scenes and has involved itself in situations across Sorneith, particularly in war zones. Few of its members are genuine pacifists, but just about all of them recognize that war is the greatest threat to their mission. The Society also frequents black markets and smuggling rings, primarily as a buyer and observer, and a significant amount of its resources are dedicated to the study and aquisition of magical artifacts and texts.
Magical ability is a must for membership, even for those of less magically-inclined breeds or in roles that don't necessarily call for a mage. The Society is not picky, however, about the type of magic. All magic is precious— there are vampires and necromancers that live freely among the conclave's ranks, although they are not welcomed with particular warmth by everyone.
The Society itself can be divided broadly into four orders, although there is significant overlap; many dragons do not fit neatly into one. The most powerful group is the Conclave of Magisters, a group of talented mages that largely decide the direction of the organization. The Watchers are the guardians of the Society's artifacts and physical headquarters, and also serve as the vanguard for direct physical interventions in the wider world. The Society's Agents are its most subtle operatives, its eyes and ears and the best choice for situations that require a careful touch. Some dragons have roles that do not quite fit into any category— these are sometimes referred to as Associates.
They are headquartered on the organization's namesake: Itheryia, a small island off the coast of the Starwood Strand. Underneath the secret society act, the Society is actually quite freeform and entirely democratic. Individual members have almost unlimited autonomy with their research and personal projects. Issues relating to the entire organization are voted on by the Conclave of Magisters, which regularly elects a Speaker to serve as the primary representative to outside groups.
